I don’t care if you think Ben didn’t deserve redemption because he killed his father. In the context of the movies, Han forgave his son the moment he did it.
Ben did something that should have been unforgivable yet his father loved him unconditionally and gave him forgiveness. It doesn’t matter if you, the viewer, think he shouldn’t have been redeemed. Han’s act of compassion showed us that he could be and that’s all that matters. That is enough to warrant his redemption.
