The more events that happen, the more evidence that comes out, the longer the war goes on, the more people see what is happening, the more people must make up their minds.
Is the war in Ukraine really a special military operation to save Ukraine from Nazification? Or is it actually a power struggle to subjugate a nation that is trying to chose its own path.
The means that Russia uses are often indiscriminate and aimed at causing fear and suffering. No-one in Ukraine wants to be ruled by that kind of government. So the fight goes on.
For Russian people, they must also chose, is their government telling the truth, or is it actually lying and manipulating in order to hold on to power and control and lead people into great evil.
For 3 years people saw the ministry of Jesus: his teaching, the healings, the miracles, and the sense of anticipation that was building. Maybe he was the king they were waiting for?
But he didn't have connections in human power structures, he didn't have friends in high places, he came from (humanly speaking) obscurity.
Yet, he was already gaining in popularity, and some people saw him as a future king. Others, however, saw him as a rival threat to be eliminated, and so it was time for people to make up their minds.
Jesus entered the temple courts, and, while he was teaching, the chief priests and the elders of the people came to him. “By what authority are you doing these things?” they asked. “And who gave you this authority?” Jesus replied, “I will also ask you one question. If you answer me, I will tell you by what authority I am doing these things. John’s baptism—where did it come from? Was it from heaven, or of human origin?” They discussed it among themselves and said, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ he will ask, ‘Then why didn’t you believe him?’ But if we say, ‘Of human origin’—we are afraid of the people, for they all hold that John was a prophet.” So they answered Jesus, “We don’t know.” Then he said, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I am doing these things.
