Two weeks after Harvey wreaked his havoc on Houston, these first-person views of mine continue to speak volumes for myself and many others. Having volunteered in handling donations and cleaning out damaged homes in Westbury and Riverstone, I have seen the best come out of so many people and new friendships born along the way. Refreshing to see the sun break through clouds over Sugar Land amid dozens walking and strolling through boulevards that were inundated just two days prior. Prayers be with those who suffered untold loss of life and property in the devastation that Hurricane Harvey has left behind. Talk about good deeds in an era of vanity! While in line to receive free Chick-n-Minis at the Chick-fil-A in Sugar Land this morning, I also decided to get a frosted coffee with my breakfast. Lo and behold, the random stranger in front of me at the drive-thru decided to pay for my frosted coffee at the window, which definitely put a smile on my face. It certainly made the trip even more worth it, and only helps me further realize the good-hearted nature of humanity, especially after a 2016 we're all glad to have survived.
