As their eyes locked she felt that spark between them that never went away. “Good” she nodded with a slight smile at his words knowing that he didn’t just mean right then. He would stick around and be there for her. “Thanks” she replied, taking a deep breath when they reached the door. Looking up at him she held his gaze again wishing she didn’t feel so scared. Scared that the test would be negative. Because if it was then he’d have no reason to be around her and he’d push her away again. She didn’t want that. She wanted the future she’d already imagined for them in her head. Even if it was a little earlier than planned. Nervously she moved into the bathroom, closing the door behind her and resting against it. Not even a minute passed before she spun around and opened it again, moving forward and up onto her tiptoes so she could press her lips against his in the most tender of kisses, needing to feel close to him if only for a moment. When she pulled back she didn’t speak. She wasn’t going to apologise or explain. It just was what it was, she thought as she turned back into the bathroom and closed the door once more.

When she finally closed the door, Kyle exhaled. He didn’t even know he was holding his breath and suddenly nerves kicked in. What if she wasn’t pregnant? There would be no reason to keep her here with him. It would probably be for the best. She wouldn’t have to deal with his bullshit for the rest of her life. He found himself leaning against the wall across from the bathroom and confusion filled his eyes once he saw Renee again. It was too early to know, right? “What’s wro--” Before he could finish asking, her lips were pressed against his own and instantly his arms wrapped around her frame, keeping her close for as long as she’d let him. Before she could pull away completely, Kyle gently kissed her forehead and offered her a small smile, watching her as she moved back towards the door. Once the door was closed again, he rested his head against the wall and waited.
