I can finally post my contributions to the wonderful "Careful, Ren"- Zine, a 10 years of Kylux tribute.

This is the fullpage illustration I painted. It was my very first time participating in a Fanzine and damn was I scared when I applied. It was a very exciting and fun and also a bit stressful experience, but Force I'd do it again and again! Thank you, @darthastris for organising! To the next 10 years!

I got back from my trip yesterday morning, and after a well needed nap I wanted to sketch some ideas for the AU @kyluxxury and I are collaborating on… but then this just became a whole thing instead of just a sketch. Which really, I was fine with because it was so much fun to draw this, and I missed drawing. I am so hyped for this AU I can’t even express myself properly, except by drawing it. ❤️

Ren kisses Hux. It comes out of nowhere. Hux hesitates briefly, but kisses back. Not because he has feelings for Ren, but because he can exploit it. It happens in private. They don't talk about it.

It keeps happening. It escalates slowly, over time. Hux makes an effort to favour Ren, when he can. Not in obvious ways, but in ways Ren can tell.

Hux still doesn't have feelings for Ren, but Hux hasn't taken a lover in a long time. Ren is a good kisser. Enthusiastic. The attention is nothing to scoff at.

Loyalty is a strong currency.

Ren is the type of person who grows on you. He grows on Hux, anyway. The affair feels less and less like a chore.

Meanwhile, Hux is growing on Ren.

Ren didn't kiss him because he had feelings for him. Ren mistakes Hux's attention for attraction and acts on it. Feelings can be exploited.

Both of them are in too deep, when they realise it's too late. They like each other. A lot.

They fight about it, way, way down the line. Who led who on? Who did it first? But at that point, their lives are too entangled to entertain the thought of splitting up.
