ironically enough, bringing a plushie to a public setting as an adult requires a tremendous level of emotional development, and attempting to shame an adult for having a plushie in public requires a significant amount of immaturity. this applies to a surprising number of things.

he definitely fucks but thereâs no way he fucks normal
man c'mon
gender essentialism is soooo funny bc it's like "this is what women are like" and you're like "I've met women and many of them, if not the majority, have not been like that" and it's like "well women SHOULD be like that" and you're like "why should women be like that" and its like "because that's what women are like"

LAST JARONA!
FUCK
Being asexual and racist is embarassing as fuck. Being racist at all is obviously embarassing as fuck but the amount of racism and especially antiblackness i have been seeing from asexuals recently is obscene.
One of the only asexual activists is Yasmin Benoit, a Black woman. She has raised so much awareness for the community. She was the first asexual person to lead Pride in London, she started the #thisiswhatasexuallookslike movement and is THE leading voice for the community.
And you all will celebrate international asexuality day on April 6th but we wouldn't even have that if she hadn't cofounded it.
Edit: why are you all too scared to repost this. Cmon. Be vocal about being against racism
Edit 2: if you feel the need to announce in the comments that you're not reblogging for whatever reason just know that I genuinely do not care.
But also know that I will look through your account and if I notice that youre actively a racist or you just dont reblog stuff about that I will ridicule you in a reblog. Idc idc. Not reblogging is fine but if you feel the need ti announce it youre annoying asf.
I've said it once and I'll say it again, gto of my blog if you're racist or bigoted at all. It's fucked up to judge someone over their skin colour, culture, and physical features ESPECIALLY when they are an active part of the community you're in.
Keep in mind that white culture is a mix of several other unique cultures, WE ARE NOT THE BEST AT ALLâLOOK AT AMERICA RIGHT NOW. This is not to say you should be guilty for being white but you still have to ACKNOWLEDGE the fact that the abuse of black people and people of colour is EVERYWHERE.
it's so funny to me when people only care about trans men being misgendered when it's to police trans mens identity & language
"you don't experience misogyny if you say you do you're misgendering yourself"
"you can't identify as lesbian if you do you're misgendering yourself"
y'all don't actually give a fuck about trans men you just want to control people in a way that sounds progressive
while im at my spree, another thing, someone had made a post about this but
Stop editing this image to be about your favorite queer discourse of the week. You are the problem this image depicts, and I will treat you like it. I donât care how âimportantâ your discourse is. You cannot be in a room with Black people talking about racism without making it about you, you, you.
every year I post this meme and every year people get more mad at me than they did the previous year
I knew feminism as a movement was on shaky ground but I didn't think it was "reclaim the manic pixie dream girl trope" level shaky. That's like saying you want to reclaim fridging. It's an inherently misogynistic trope, you can't fix it by there being two women instead of a woman and a man, it's still misogynistic to write a female character who only exists to help the other characters grow and has no arc or even personality outside of quirks and weird habits!! You can't reclaim bad, misogynistic writing!!
Some of y'all really do think misogyny is stored in the man and by getting rid of all men we magically fix misogyny and it's why current mainstream feminism is so fucking rhetorically incoherent. It's vibes based, no theory needed. You can't even articulate why this trope is bad, something we all had a lock on ten fucking years ago. It's bad to write women as objects who only exist to serve others even if the other they serve is another woman. You cannot reclaim treating a woman like a lose collection of character quirks and defects who exists to serve others. That is ALWAYS misogynistic writing. Jesus fucking christ.
Okay. That makes sense.
What if the Manic Pixie Dreamgirl is the protagonist ? Meaning sheâs also changing and having an arc.
I mean, I don't think that's a manic pixie dream girl anymore? She's just a well-written female character, which manic pixie dream girls are not by definition. It's like calling every instance of a queer character dying "bury your gays" when that has a very specific, extremely negative definition that does not just mean "when a gay character dies", it's a manifestation of homophobia and how it influences our culture and media. The problem with the Manic Pixie Dream Girl is that that term literally exists to describe a common misogynistic trope. It's describing a way of writing women that is inherently dehumanizing and misogynistic.
You can deconstruct these tropes, but that inherently means playing into them a little to show how flawed a way of viewing women is like Paper Towns did, but at the end of the day we don't want more MPDGs because they are a misogynistic trope. Asking for more is asking for all women to be written badly on purpose.
We can, should, and must write interesting, well rounded female characters who do not exist solely to serve any other character, but when we do that we aren't reclaiming the MPDG, we're getting rid of her and replacing her with a real character because all she is is a misogynistic stereotype. There's nothing to reclaim.
