you know what annoys me about that zionist fc list? some people end up there because they reposted a stand with israel on insta when everything first exploded online. and like… i’m gonna be honest, me and my own family reposted stuff too at first because we were uneducated on the situation. we saw a war happening, saw people sharing posts condemning violence, and reposted without fully understanding the political context behind it.

with time, we educated ourselves. we listened, read more, understood what zionism actually meant in practice, and our views changed completely. and i feel like a lot of regular people probably went through that same process too.

people act like everyone has had years of deep geopolitical knowledge, but a lot of us only started hearing about any of this when it suddenly flooded social media. some celebrities are absolutely awful and proudly double down on harmful views, yes. but i also think some people were simply uninformed, learned better, and quietly stopped supporting those narratives without making a whole public performance out of it.

celebrities are still people. some are malicious. some are ignorant. some are learning and doing better even if not exposing it constantly for a tumblr blog to remove their name from a zio list. those aren’t always the same thing.

yeah like i think at first people reposted things like peace for both sides or whatever, which is logical bc you see a war, and of course you want peace for everyone involved bc a war is never good. most people have no idea how severe the differences are or how things actually are? and propraganda was everywhere at the time too so i would say it's hard to immediately get the full picture too? even now too, honestly. and yes i agree that certain people are just shitty and they just don't care on what they're sharing out there, and some would have since corrected their views and tried to do better after educating themselves, but i don't think the rpc is too helpful in making people wanting to educate themselves. it's all "educate yourself you're so shitty" and that's it.

before ba sing se, rokuan regarded IROH — "the dragon of the west" — as the embodiment of everything a fire nation commander should be. he was undefeated, disciplined, and worthy of both fear and admiration. iroh represented the kind of legacy rokuan had been raised to inherit, a man whose victories reinforced the belief that the fire nation's dominance over the other elements was both inevitable and justified. serving under him only strengthened that perception: iroh was not just a symbol, but leader who inspired confidence in the cause, and rokuan believed without question that ba sing se would fall under his leadership.

when iroh abandoned the siege following his son's death, that belief fractured. admiration turned to resentment, because rokuan could not reconcile how a man like iroh could walk away when so many... including rokuan's own brother JINROKU had already died for that victory. to him, the fire nation did not retreat, did not leave wars unfinished, and certainly did not render sacrifice meaningless. for years after this, he carried that bitterness, now seeing iroh not as wise, but as someone who had failed. someone who had chosen personal grief over duty, and in doing so, had swiftly diminished the value of every life lost at ba sing se.

it was only after THE SIEGE OF ANGA Q'ELA, years later, watching a shackled iroh stand against admiral zhao and refuse the destruction of the moon spirit, when something in rokuan shifted ... once again.

what he witnessed in the north pole, both the slaughter and iroh's defiance of it, forced rokuan to reconsider everything he thought he'd understood. for the first time, he saw that iroh had not abandoned the war out of weakness, but because he had recognized its cost long before others had. and deep in his soul, rokuan wonder that if he'd realized this cost at the time, his brother would still be alive. by the time rokuan chose to let iroh and zuko go — an action of inaction rather than open defiance — the misplaced anger and bitterness had cooled into something quieter... not loyalty, but a measured respect, all undercut with the growing understanding that iroh may have been right all along.
