Not gonna lie I’d take my titty out in space cause imagine how perky it’d look without gravity
tonight a customer tried to return one of those tv boxes that also allows you view a bunch a channels.
there was clearly shipping info marked on the outside of the box but the address had been ripped off.
he said he bought it off the shelf like that. sure
He doesn’t have a receipt
of course he paid cash. again. sure
I started to do the return for store credit and low and behold he would get like 80 bucks back for this thing.
Per our store policy (which changes often regarding returns because of scamming ass customers). We have to notify security for any returns without receipt or card over 40 dollars.
I told the customer that and all of a sudden now he wants to know where the batteries are. :: side eye intensifies::
security comes and dude is now making up stories. saying someone else bough it. “She” didn’t tell him that the remote was missing (security found several items weren’t in the box including the remote)
the security guard tells him we need all the items that came with the unit to do the return.
meanwhile me and my coworkers are watching this shit like
okay. 2 stories.
story one was when I worked at a garden center. we had this lady who scrutizined every single plant in our greenhouse. she’d always try to return the plants she’d inevitably kill. my favorite was when she brought up a hibiscus that had a single yellow leaf on it. she demanded we giver her half off. my manager who was just so tired of her bullshit, pulled the leaf off and said, “now it’s full price.” like, this woman was so shocked… it was great. she harumphed out of the store muttering how she would never shop here again. lol
second story… when I worked at barnes and noble for a very brief time. we had this white middle class looking dude come in with like fifteen or twenty paperbacks. all of them were just busted the fuck up. like cracked spines, various and sundry stains, ripped and dog eared pages, and most of them had no covers at all. Now, no covers in the bookselling biz means that the paperbacks had been damaged out and were not for resale, which means this dude dumpster dived. anyway, he comes in and tries to get a refund for these books. no receipt, of course. he gets really loud and rowdy when I tell him no. demands…. DEMANDSSSS to see my manager. manager comes up and tells him that the books have to be in saleable condition and that not one of his books qualify. he goes on huffing and puffing and being loud about wanting a refund until we threaten to call security… and he eventually slinks off. to this day I can’t even believe he tried that shit. like, really??? really, dude????
that’s that bullshit
One of my last retail jobs was at a Hot Topic that had been a Claire’s at some point which meant there were mirrors everywhere. So I watched this grown woman & her daughter come in with two emptyish bags, walk around picking up merch. They took turns trying stuff on, and started slipping things into the bags. We didn’t say anything, just called mall security because we thought they were going to try to shoplift. Nope, they came up front & tried to “return” the stuff in the bags for store credit so they could buy the stuff they tried on. Bold as hell, but they dropped it really quick when we pointed at the mirrors & started rattling off when they stole each thing. They left empty handed & really really pissed.
About a week and half ago, we had a lady come into the used bookstore I’m at rn, and my coworker and manager IMMEDIATELY come up to me and go, “When she comes up to check out, CHECK THE STICKERS she’s a serial retagger and will try to scam us call the manager if you see anything funny.”
THREE HOURS LATER, LITERALLY FIVE MINUTES BEFORE WE CLOSE, she comes up with a stack of books and I’m checking the tags, and the actual last book, she’s put a clearance sticker that’s backdated seven months before the actual price sticker. So we call the manager over, he says to her “Oh, someone must have switched the sticker, do you want it for full price?” And the customer snorts, and says no before paying up and leaving.
(We also have a guy who I’m convinced buys our CDs, tears off the price sticker, burns them to his computer, and then comes back and complains about the quality and returns them. He bought a CD and brought it back complaining FIVE MINUTES LATER. Apparently the only reason we haven’t banned him is he sells us ‘good stuff.’)
Last night one of the bootleg men that likes to price match to amazon came. He always attempts fraudulent price matches for blank cd’s,DVDs, and sleeves
He’s a jerk to boot. Like he will throw or drop the merchandise on the desk and be like “price match ”
Not hi. Not how are you. Boom “price match”
Price matching is time consuming because our tech is garbage but we have to use it to evaluate if the item that is being matched to the store is the exact same one on amazon. If a digit is off on the upc, we can’t match it
Dude knows this but tries us EVERY DAY in trying to match our merch to the other merch that looks the same but the codes are different.
This week it was decided that he can no longer price match at our location. Any staff behind the customer service desk are not permitted to do matches for him.
Well he didn’t take being told (again) that we can’t price match for him anymore.i asked if he wanted to speak to a manager. He said yes so I did one better and called security
Yesterday I got called to the front to help a customer with a return. A set of Calvin Klein activewear, no tags or receipt. We have the merchandise still in stock so I could look it up and price match for store credit, but something doesn’t look right. I ask her if she’s worn it, she says she just tried it in but it didn’t fit. I look at it and ask her if she washed it, she says “of course I washed it.” I tell her we can’t take back laundered merchandise and she proceeds to tell me “Well, the tag says wash before wearing!” Is she serious??? I’m seriously arguing about this with this lady telling her wash before wearing does not mean wash before trying on. I ask her, “If you were trying it on here in the store would you wash it first? Is that even a thing you’d be able to do? Why would you do that at home?” She is MAD. Says she’s a great customer so I should take it back and then says she’s never coming back when I say no.
Who does that??? Why are people like this?
A cherry man through and through… One of my favorite things about Steven Universe are all the subtle references to previous episodes. It’s little call backs like these that show how Rebecca Sugar and her team always go that extra mile.
I knew she had a degree but didn’t know she was the most educated First Lady.
this needs to be on everyone’s dash…

A painter in Los Angeles kept missing his exit for the I-5 on the 110 highway, so he did his research, climbed up the overhead sign, and changed it himself without anyone noticing.
This is Richard Ankrom. He couldn’t find his damn exit, cuz it wasn’t properly labelled.
So he took life by the balls, like any self-respecting Californian would do, and used his sign-painting expertise to fix it himself.
He called it ‘guerilla public service.’ Even got himself an outfit to look official. It worked, obvi.
Caltrans investigated, but the sign was actually up to code. They left it there for 8 years before they made an updated sign.
