Jimmy Stroud, Chairman of the Hector Scholarship Foundation, started of the evening with a warm welcome to the crowd. The school cafeteria was hardly recognizable with the fine white linen table cloths, blue sashes, and red rose centerpieces. Twenty eight area businesses sponsored tables for this year’s gala.Â
The foundation is growing each year and able to provide scholarships to more students graduating from Hector High-School. Last year the foundation awarded five $2,000 scholarships to graduates. This year Hector Scholarship Foundation is adding scholarships for trade schools as well as the college money for eligible students. Mark Taylor acted as the Master of Ceremonies for the Gala, and made all the guests feel welcomed.Â

Guests enjoyed their choice of chicken or pork topped with an amazing sauce, along with potatoes, carrots, and squash. The meal was catered by Chef Tory Hogan with K-12 Culinary, a company that works with the Hector School District to provide tasty and nutritious lunches for the kids.Â
Richard Pierce was an entertaining auctioneer for the sixteen donated items  to raise money for the foundation. In addition, there were thirty-six businesses and individuals who donated items for the silent auction.Â

All in all, everyone at the gala had a good time and was a part of raising money for the Hector Scholarship Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit helping Hector High School graduates further their educations.Â
