HEY GUYS guess WHAT! i brought home this tiny adorable baby child on the 25th and i’m in Love

i’ve wanted an axolotl for the longest time and i finally had the opportunity to get one after planning and prepping and i could not be happier. i don’t have a name for him/her yet - though i’m considering Peach & my family has taken to referring to them as a He (we won’t be able to tell until it’s like 1yr+), if you wanna suggest some go for it!!! im a Very Bad Namer. (but i kinda want a food name for em)

it’s only like 3 inches long rn and so sweet and like? so friendly, it got used to the tank so fast and when i put my hand in to feed it it just comes right on up, it’s precious. i thought it’d be a little shy but nope!

i don't know if anyone's seen my rant about this but the first (and last) cage intro between Milo and my older boys went wrong and Milo's eye was bit by Leo, completely unprovoked. It's been a battle to get my parents to allow me to take him to the vet but they finally gave today and took him in. his eyeball was punctured and had to be removed, it's currently sutured up and he goes back in two weeks to have them removed. i wish it hadn't have came to this but i'm glad it's out and everything went well. he charmed everyone at the vets, when we came in the techs gushed about how sweet he was and how he was giving them all kisses once he had woken up, and of course busted out the pi-rat jokes. he's a little groggy still but as soon as they gave him to me he latched onto me and started giving me kisses and grooming my hand. i'm keeping him in the carrying cage tonight because it's easier to keep an eye on him and because he's still a little out of it i don't want him tumbling off of one of the levels in the big cage.
