Clearance finds are the best. I found Sinful Colors' Rain Storm polish in a bin at Big Lots for $1. It's a nice blue, moodier and more denim than it looks here. A one coater for my blissfully shortened nails, too. After a couple of days I brushed on a layer or two of a glitter top coat called Indi-Go With The Flow, which I got on clearance at Sephora when they were discontinuing the Sephora by OPI range of polishes. It's a very pretty but slightly unmanageable silvery periwinkle glitter. It blends in with Rain Storm a bit but I like that.

Are you doing another bL buy anytime soon? I am lusting after the spring colours.
If they have another F&F sale and some colors come out that I want, I might do - if it falls at the right paycheck time. I haven't been really thrilled by any of the colors lately except Sozzled, Dust Up, and Titchy, and I have just about all the older colors I want, so without big impetus, I haven't been in the mood to place an order, alas.
I love this polish, but it is entirely impossible to photograph. It is a glitterbomb without question, and the bling is turned up to eleven. One coat of Happy Hands "Illusions, Michael" (original formulation, as near as I can tell - was obtained in a blog sale of sorts) over one coat of Barry M Gelly in "Blood Orange", which is really just red, I know, but it's a really nice red I should wear more. I put this over a coat of Essence Peel Off Base Coat because there is no way I want to try scrubbing this off with acetone and cotton balls. Even the foil method would have a time and a half with this...
My nails have been boring as heck. Thank goodness for Easter providing an occasion to at least step it up a LITTLE. butter London in Jasper, Mollycoddled, Sprog, Kerfuffle, and Fiver. The black glitter is LA Girl Uninhibited, and I used the bL Matte Finish topcoat to take off the shine.
I was rummaging through my collection when I found my bottle of Kleancolor Chunky Holo Purple and thought, "Doing this!" It's just so pretty... One coat of the Kleancolor over one coat of butter London in Bramble, which I guess must be one of my very favorite polish colors since I reach for it when I can't think of anything else to wear. So pretty and perfect.
Happy St. Patrick's Day! Went simple: Sally Hansen Triple Shine in Kelp Out (still love it, what a great green, right? second wearing this year) with a layer of Sinful Colors in Green Ocean, their annual St. Patrick's glitterflake offering.
This is super girly for me but I really do kind of love it tons. Thumb and ring: Delush Polish, Je Ne Sais Quoi, three coats. It's so effervescently fun with all the bubble-like circle glitters! Index: two coats of OPI Movin' Out over Rescue Beauty Lounge Stormy. Always love the pink-green-gold color shift of Movin' Out! Middle and Pinky: one coat of Salon Perfect Loves Me, Loves Me Not over Stormy. Stormy, by the way, is a perfectly beautifully behaved deep gray, and looks so nice under the baby pink and black matte glitter.
Zoya PixieDusts - my forever loves, and this one is at the top of the list, it's so gorgeous. Chyna, an amazing ruby red texture. Actually tempted to order a backup of it! I've used it more than any of my other Pixies, which is a surprise as I usually shy away from using reds too often. Pixies are incredible for when I need to have glam nails in a hurry - no layering of basecoat between layers of color as I usually do, no topcoat! But such a pretty end result...
Rescue Beauty Lounge in 'Anne', two coats. Such a pretty pretty color, I love dirty golden olive lacquers way too much. There is a very elusive pink shimmer to it - I couldn't get it on camera, but that's all right. Elusiveness is a pretty spot-on quality for a nail polish inspired by Anne Boleyn.
Neutral nails for the interview that wasn't (well, it still is, it's just a conference call now and not live). butter London in Toff and it bothers me how much I'm enjoying a plain creme pink based neutral. WHO AM I. Yeah. It's getting glittered up later tonight. Or something. Definitely something.
That would be 'Movin' Out' from the 2003 Holiday on Broadway collection! It's one of my very favorites, but I think this will be the last bottle of it I get - it's hard to find (I found it on Amazon for a better price than eBay, which doesn't happen often), and the price is starting to climb faster lately. :(
I definitely find I get my money's worth with butter London (and then some I suppose, given that I get so many of them on sale!). The cremes I've tried have had perfect, beautiful formulas that go on so nicely I hardly have to do any cleanup. The only chips I tend to get are where my nails already have peeling issues, so that's hardly the fault of the polish. If I wrap my tips properly, I can get a week out of a butter London manicure! I love that! I absolutely use my bL polishes more than any others, and I'm pretty sure they must be the largest part of my collection.
Picked up my mail today and there were some nice things in it! ...not that I can wear any of them yet as I have to assist in conducting an interview tomorrow and am not sure strawberry based duochromes or jadeite green would go over well.
These, however, are my nails this week! It's all butter London up in here - start with 'Bramble' as base color, still the perfect deep and rich purple creme. Then top with a layer of 'Fizzy Pop', a coppery shimmer overcoat lacquer that was exclusive to Ulta over the holidays. So sparkly and fiery!
My best friend wanted to play with stamping! She painted on a coat of butter London's 'Toff', and then I stamped over it with Sinful Colors in 'Gold Medal'. We used my MoYou London Tourist plate - can't recall offhand which number it is, but it's got XL designs and is French-themed.
I never want to take these off. Thumb and middle: Scofflaw Nail Varnish in Koi Pondering. Index: Sinful Colors Gold Medal and butter London West End Wonderland (glitter sponge gradient). Ring: Zoya Pepper with Sinful Colors Gold Medal stamped over it, MoYou London plate Sailor Collection 06. Pinkie: Zoya PixieDust in Sunshine.
