Legolas was walking around the city, following a patrol. He could use some fresh air,  being outside the palace for a moment. He smiled at a kind girl that looked at him shyly, before his eye caught up something strange. 

He saw people in the palace’s stairs, one of them tall and with pale hair. That was his father. What was he doing there? He saw a cloaked figure that followed him inside, as well as a few guards. Quickly, he made his back back home.

He saw Elenya in the halls. “Did you see my father, meleth nin?” he asked, taking her hand. “He took a woman in the palace. I want to see what happened”

She turned and smiled at his voice before frowning curiously. “i haven’t seen him but i heard him come by. i did hear a woman with him. ill go look yes? you head back and finish your patrol.”

“No, no” he pulled her close. “We were coming back anyway, it was just strange to see him outside the palace and escorting a random person inside. That’s why I came to look” he pecked her lips. “Let’s go together, it might as well be nothing serious”

she smiled and kissed him back before nodding, “alright melleth. lets go look. i think i heard them go towards his study.” she held his hand as she turned and headed that way

she actually blushed brightly when he stared and kissed her knuckles, giving him a small smile back. “thank you. you looking amazing as well”, she said softly. eyes taking in the well matched clothes and how they made his eyes shine

He helped her sit on her chair and took a seat across her on the small, round table. “I hope getting ready was not hard for you. I assume you met Arana, the tailor’s daughter? That lady has a fine taste and makes everything seem so easy”

she smiled almost shyly as he helped her sit before blushing and nodding, “yes i did. she is very nice. helped me a great deal”, she admitted, “and she really does make it all look easy”

she finally fell asleep. body shutting down again. this time staying asleep the entire night. though she woke briefly every half an hour. looking around for legolas before crying herself to sleep once again

The king did his best to remain awake and check on Elenya, but he too needed rest. He fell asleep holding her and whenever he felt her crying, he held her closer.

she finally woke up as the sun rose and looked around before wiping her eyes sadly. she slowly shifted and stood, holding herself up on the side table, and move into the bathroom.  she looked into the mirror, seeing almost a ghost of herself. she was fading....she could feel it...

She gave a small sad smile. “I have seen many thing, but kind I am not. I have hurt to many to be considered kind” she said, but hugged her back again. “I should go meet him. He should be waiting for me”

“What we do and what we are are not always the same. I know it when I see a person with a fair heart” she winked at her. “Yes, go go. Charm him and do tell me how it went after tomorrow” she smiled.

Legolas wore a white and light grey tunic, his hair down -which made him look more like his father than he cared to admit- and grey leggings matching the outfit. He chose something elegant and simple, since he was never one to dress too fancy. He now paced around his room, waiting for Elenya to come and looking nervously the table, then around and then to the door.

She smiled and hugged her again, “ill come find you first thing”, she said before striding out. she moved down the hall and to the prince’s room. he had had the same room all his life she knew. she took a deep nervous breath and stood strait before knocking on the door

Legolas almost jumped when the knock pulled him out of his thoughts and fixed his hair and clothes, before taking a deep breath and opening the door.

Elena was stunning. He was left speechless, gazing at her breathtaking beauty enough for it to be awkward. “Uh, sorry” he smiled. “Come in. You look magnificent, my lady” he took her hand and pressed a kiss on her knuckles.

she whimpered and closed her eyes. “i will…try. but i will not look at his face. i will not…have that image in my head again. not when we are to see him again soon.”

He nodded. “Alright, I understand” he hummed. Truly, he did not want to, either, but he had agreed to help with the coffin and he had to properly bid him farewell. He knew he had do and he did not have the luxury to avoid it as Elenya did. “You’ll stay seated on your throne ext to mine and I’ll be with you after the ceremony is completed. It’ll be short but I asked for us to sit. I won’t have you standing in this condition”

She took a deep breath and nodded as he spoke. “Alright” she whispered, something unusual beyond belief. She hadn’t put up a bit of fight. “I just want it over with. I want to sail and see him again” she whispered and hugged him tighter, tears rising once more.

“I know. I want the same. And I promise you to do my best to make this quick and have us sail to find him” he hugged her back, gently rubbing her back. “Stay strong, my princess” he murmured, kissing her head.

she clung to him tightly. finding the first and only comfort she could in him. were she alone she had no doubt she would have already faded. “only for you”, she whispered, cutting his robe like a child and burying her face against his neck. head under his chin

Thranduil caressed her hair and let her rest there, knowing Elenya was looking for comfort and safety and that he could provide both. Or try, at least.

Elenya blushed and shifted her skirts, trying to better cover up the wound on her leg, “well it is and i am perfectly fine”, she said, trying to sound sure and not filled with pain

The guard rolled her eyes at the actions of Elenya once she was sure that she was not in her sights. “Why are you against going there? The healers are quite pleasant.” Hithfaeril idly clasped her hands behind her back, watching as the Princess limped while following behind her.

she rolled her eyes as well at that statement. “the overreact. and when i do go they have a penchant of drugging me to keep me there. i have things to do and i can’t spend the next week laying uselessly in bed.”

“If they are sedating you it is probably for a good reason.” Hithfaeril replied, knowing the ways of the healers. “Do you have a suggestion of anywhere I could take you then to get supplies? I am not leaving you in this state.”

“if its herbs you need i can get you those myself”, she said evenly “other supplies the kitchen would probably have. the maids don’t go to the healers.”

Begrudgingly, Hithfaeril caught up towards the Princess. “I will support you as you walk, unless you feel like you need me to carry you?” This would be solved easily by going to the healers and unfortunately that was not what they were doing. Hithfaeril’s plan was to bring Elenya somewhere comfortable where she could sit before she went, be herself, to gather the supplies.

“i can walk”, she soothed her, “just lead the way to where it is you need me to be to do what you need to do.” she was trying to cooperate as best as her long given habits and instincts would allow

“Follow me then.” It did not take long for Hithfaeril to lead Elenya to a unused room near the barracks. Shutting the door, she left to collect the needed implements before returning. Luckily for Hithfaeril, people rarely bothered to question her actions. Probably because they were frightened by her harsh demeanor and her usually unwelcoming face.

The guard lightly tapped the door before opening it.

elena sat on the bed. she had jerked and looked up, quickly trying to hid the look of pain on her face. “Did you find everything you needed?”

"Fin? i...i need your help. something happened and i can't go to ada about it."

Glorfindel immediately looked up from his work as soon as he heard Ellie’s voice, worry clear in his eyes.  “You know you can come to me about anything, Ellie,” he answered seriously, gesturing for her to take a seat in a chair across the desk from him.  “How can I help?”

“Ellie, calm down,” he murmured softly, not letting goof his dear friend.  “I am not letting you go until you see sense.  You are not leaving, and you will see the healers regularly to make sure you and the babe are well.  And you cannot hide from your father for that long.  He will search you down.”

“i ill be fine. my baby will b be fine! b but i can’t face ada! he was so upset fin! i c can’t! p please….”she whispered the last part beggingly. she knew her fear was seemingly uncalled for but the last person in the world she wanted to disappoint was her ada and she already had. she wants to hide. she wanted to never have to face him again. she had only ever wanted to make him proud

Even her begging did not make him loosen his embrace in the slightest.  “Ellie, please, breathe and calm down,” he said softly.  “No matter what I say right now, you will just yell and ignore.  So I am going to stay here with you and hold you until we can talk.  No one is going to disturb us.”

she whimpered and fought for a long time before she finally went still. trembling lightly and almost limp in his arms. face buried in a pillow

She beamed, “the cooks made it special! Said they wanted it as good as possible for us”

He scoffed.  “You got special food?  All I got was a glance and ‘you’ll never actually leave, will you?’”

she chuckled and kissed his cheek. “you know they love you fin. i they didnt they would never have ut up with your stealing for so long!”

He pouted at her harder as her parents laughed.  “They said they had a party in the kitchens to celebrate me leaving.”

she snickered, “I'm sure they didnt. without you here they have no-one to makee life interesting”, she soothed a d pulled him into a chair. handing him a cinnamon bun

She chuckled, catching on to her mother’s plan but nodded, “thank you”, she said, taking a raspberry now

“You’re welcome.  You know, Glorfindel is not the only one that noticed you do not want the attention, or people near,” she said gently as she moved to rummage around in the kitchens, obviously looking for something.

She gave a small shrug, “i wasn’t trying to hide it”, she said bluntly, “but i do feel better without many people around. less chance there is someone among them who will hurt you.”

“Of course,” she agreed almost blandly before standing straight from the cupboards, holding a brown lump in her hand as though it were a treasure.  “I found chocolate.  Did you still want to try it?”

she blinked in surprise before nodding, “sure”, she said, eyeing the lump. at first appearance it didnt look to appetizing...it looked more like manure. but she had always heard how good the stuff was. she slowly took it and turned it, “i just...bite it?”

she actually blushed at the complement and cleared her throat softly. not used to this and not used to being able to be so open. she chuckled as a large bowl of berries was offered to her and took a strawberry. she hummed as she bit into it. eyes closing as she savored the taste

Celebrian subtly shooed the other elves from the kitchen, not wanting too many in the room to scare her daughter into putting all her walls back up.  She then smiled to Elenya, enjoying the look on her face as she ate the sweet treat.  “You may have as many as you’d like.”

She chuckled, catching on to her mother’s plan but nodded, “thank you”, she said, taking a raspberry now

“So you will just avoid your father for the rest of your life?” he asked gently, not letting go of her.

she gave a long low whimper, “at at least until I’ve h had the baby”, she whispered, “please fin. i can’t face him. he was so disappointed in me….i can’t face him. let me go”, she shook her head. panic slowly rising again

Laurield offered her friend a smile at that statement.  “I thought you would, or at least I guessed so.  Your brothers are very well known for torturing people with their pranks.  Sometimes we all wonder if they will ever mature enough to let the Valley be peaceful again.”

She laughed brightly at that. “that’s the thing about pranking. It means you are already at peace. You are relaxed enough to let down your guard and make a joke. I certainly felt that way at least”

“I look forward to the day you can still say that after they have filled your sheets with leaves and used your soap to turn your skin funny colors,”  she said calmly before pausing at an open office door.  “This is Lord Glorfindel’s office.  It looks like he is in for the day, if you’d like to go in.”

she chuckled, “it is better then days of war”, she said before giving her a thankful site and peering in. “lord glorfindel?”
