it’s annoying to me as a Fanfic Elder that y’all don’t understand how consent works in regards to reading fanfic
last night I saw a fic that had EIGHT of my favorite tags included and a great summary BUT it also contained a tag for a topic that bothers me. I weighed the pros/cons and decided NOT to read the fic because the ONE tag I disliked was something that could trigger a panic attack if the scene went into any sort of detail - it wasn’t worth risking the eight good tags.
from the first moment I noticed the fic to the moment I decided not to read it, the entire experience was MY RESPONSIBILITY. the author tagged the fic correctly, I knew what my limits were, and I respected them.
if you find a fic with tags you don’t like, JUST DON’T READ IT
don’t harass the author, don’t post a big whiny rant about it on Tumblr, just keep scrolling
People don't know what x reader is nowadays huh? X reader is when you the author allow your readers to define and choose a character's appearance and name, this includes race, body, eyes, hair, hair, texture, height, name, and more.
These stories be having x reader when in the book they put “Y/n has pale skin, is petite, and has blue eyes” if you have a description of a character it is no longer x reader it is x OC(Original Character) I don't know why writers do this because the only thing you can pick in these “x reader” is your name it is very annoying as a young black woman thinking I can enjoy a favorite fiction character x reader story and I get hit with “and I can feel my pale skin blush” or “I had to look up at him because of my height”.
It's misleading and it honestly turned me off wanting to read from white authors who write x-reader stories, this happens the most tho on Wattpad.
Just put that the book is x original character that's it so people can enjoy it more, it's not that hard please, and thank you🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤.

"Oi, get your ass up and go put on something nice. Somethin' that'll make you look like a girl for once." Katsuki says as he barges into your dorm room. Something you were used to after how long you have been dating, so it didn't really catch you by surprise.
You were laying in your bed, thoughtlessly scrolling through your phone when he walked in, stopping at the side of your bed. You put your phone down and looked up at him, slightly annoyed at his insult about your appearance.
"I always look like a girl you ass." You tell him.
The ash blond doesn't respond, only looks you up and down with a quirked eyebrow. You looked down at yourself taking in the baggy grey sweatpants and oversized t-shirt you stole from him as well as the red bonnet covering your hair. You look back up at him with a frown.
"You caught me at a moment of weakness."
He rolls his eyes. "Just make sure ya look better than you do now and meet me downstairs in 10 minutes. Don't be fuckin late!"
You quickly sit up on your bed and give him a puzzled look. "10 min-, Katsuki there's no way in hell I can get ready that fast. And you didn't even tell me where we're going." You argued.
He kissed his teeth as he made his way to the door. "Just shut up and do it. If ya don't come down in ten minutes, I'm leaving your ass here." He says before exiting your room slamming the door behind him.
You let out a sharp sigh at your boyfriend's stubborn attitude. You were curious about where you were going but you knew he wouldn't tell you until you got there. So you shrugged it off and stood up from your bed to get ready. But if he wanted you to 'look like a girl' you didn't want to rush it. Beauty takes time after all.
- 45 minutes later -
Katsuki was angrily pacing back and forth at the front of the dorm building. He was just about to call your phone for the tenth time when you opened the front door of the building to step outside. He was ready to start yelling at you for making him wait for so long but the words got caught in his throat as he took in your glowing form.
You were wearing a cute pink laced up ruffle dress, with white platform heels. And the straps of a white mini backpack slung on your forearm. You were wearing makeup but not too much, just enough to accentuate your natural beauty. Your hair had been in twists before so you took them out, making your look curls bouncy and defined.
(This is the fit I thought of, but feel free to imagine something else if you don't like it.)
"So, do I look like a girl enough for you?" You tease, seeing how he couldn't take his eyes off of you.
Bakugou finally snaps out of his trance when he hears your voice. He clicks his tongue and turns away from you trying to hide the slight blush on his cheeks.
"Whatever. Let's just go." He scoffs as he starts walking to his car, but stops when he realizes you weren't behind him. "What the fuck now?"
"I'm not going anywhere with you until you say something nice about my outfit." You pout, crossing your arms over your chest.
The ash blonde lets out a sigh at your stubbornness. He walks up to you and grabs your waist with his large hands, pulling you flush against his chest. He leans down to your ear and plants a soft kiss on your jaw before speaking.
"You look so fucking beautiful it makes me want to fuck you right here and now." He whispers lowly, the heat of his breath causing your heart to skip a beat.
Bakugou pulled away from you, smirking at your now flustered expression. He then slides one of his hands down your arms to hold yours, intertwining your fingers with his.
"Come on. We're gonna be late." He says as he pulls you towards the car. You just nod and follow behind him, still too embarrassed to talk just yet.
...
After a short drive, Bakugou pulled into a driveway that was unfamiliar to you. It was modern and was in a seemingly wealthy neighborhood. He parked the car and unbuckled his seat belt.
"Katsuki, we're not going to rob this place are we? Cause I didn't bring the right shoes for that." You question as you get out of the car.
"The hell!? Why would I rob my own house?" He snaps back at you.
"YOU BOUGHT A HOUSE!?" You shout, very surprised.
"NO, YOU IDIOT!" He yelled back. Taking a breath as to not pop a blood vessel at your denseness. "It's my parent's place." He said more calmly.
That's when everything clicked in your head, and a slight panic began to settle in. Bakugou was taking you to meet his parents for the first time. HIS PARENTS!
"WAIT WHAT!? Why didn't you tell me this earlier, I didn't even bring a gift or anything. And this outfit isn't good enough for something like this!" You start to panic a little, thinking about how you don't want to make a bad impression on them. These were going to be your future In-laws after all
Bakugou flicks your forehead to snap you out of your rambling. "Calm down dumbass, it's not that big a deal." He says as you both make it to the front door.
"But-" You start before he puts his hand on your head giving it a soft reassuring pat, gentle enough as to not mess up your hair.
"Everything's gonna be fine, so stop worryin' would ya."
You nod your head and Bakugou turns around to unlock the door with his spare key. You both step inside and take your shoes off before you look around the house. It was spacious and clean and looked very good, everything in the house went so well together. Then you remembered Bakugou said one time that both his parents were designers. Well, they really know how to style a house. You think.
"KATSUKI IS THAT YOU, YOU BRAT!?" You hear a woman's voice yell from further in the house.
"DON'T CALL ME A BRAT YOU OLD HAG, I'M TOO OLD FOR THAT SHIT! Bakugou yelled back.
Someone's footsteps came stomping towards you, seemingly in a huff. When they rounded the corner, you saw an ash blond woman that looked like the spitting image of the man standing beside you.
Her eyes were glaring at the boy before they instantly softened when she looked at you. "Oh, hello dear! You must be my shit of a son's girlfriend, correct?" She says, in a much gentler tone than with her son.
"Y-yes I am, good afternoon Mrs. Bakugou." You say bowing slightly. You straighten back up and smile at her. "My name is Y/n L/n, it's very nice to meet you."
"Ah! She's beautiful and respectful. How the hell did that no good son of mine get a girl like you?" She asks, placing her hands on your shoulders. "You deserve so much better."
"THE HELL DID YOU SA-."
Bakugou was cut off by his mother hitting him hard on the back of the head. Even you slightly winced at the impact. "STOP YELLING IN MY HOUSE!"
"DON'T HIT ME YOU CRAZY B-"
Another slap hit his head as his mother threatened him in a much harsher tone this time. "Don't you dare finish that!"
She turned back to you and smiled once more. "Anyway, I'm this brat's mother. You can just call me Mitsuki, okay?" You nod and she wraps her arm around your shoulders, walking you further inside the house. Completely forgetting about her son who followed behind in a huff.
You all sat down at the table in the kitchen, as you saw man walked downstairs, he had dark brown hair and glasses. When he saw you he shook your hand and introduced himself as Bakugou's father, Masaru. He was much quieter and gentler than the two other Bakugou's. Talking to him, you couldn't help but be reminded of how Bakugou acts when your alone together; calm and completely in the moment. Now you know where he gets his soft side from.
The four of you sat at the table and talked about various things to get to know each other better. Well, Bakugou didn't talk much; he just sat quietly, occasionally getting into arguments with his mother when she said something he didn't like.
"Y/n sweetheart, I wish I had met you sooner, we could have had so much fun together. And if Katsuki didn't hide you from us for 10 months, that would have happened." She said, glaring at her son who glared right back.
"Wait, you hid me?" You ask, turning to your boyfriend with a puzzled expression.
"Yes, he did. Can you believe him? He didn't even want to show his sweet parents his girlfriend. Isn't he just the worst Y/n?" Mitsuki says, pretending to wipe tears from her eyes.
"I only did it because you would have scared her off you senile old bag." He responded through gritted teeth.
"I wouldn't scare her off! In fact, I would trade her for you if I could." She smirked.
That comment sent Bakugou over the edge, making the two broke into yet another argumen. It was a little surprising how quickly you got used to the mother and son duo's dynamic. You didn't even try to intervine as you and Masaru had your own conversation, as you let the other two tire themselves out.
When things finally settled down, Masaru takes Bakugou into the kitchen to help with supper as you and Mitsuki move to the living room to talk. She pulls out the family photo album and showed you all of Bakugou's baby pictures. Taking out your phone to take pictures of them, smiling at how cute he was. It's pretty rare to see him with such a happy smile now a days. So, you couldn't help but feel privileged to get to see this miniature version of him grinning ear to ear.
"Y/n, mind if I ask you something?" Mitsuki asks, making you look up from the photo album. You nod at her and she continues.
"What is it you like about Katsuki? I know he's not the easiest person to deal with. He's loud, stubborn, and angry all the time. And he also has a tendency to push things away when he gets to happy. Though, I know he gets most of that from me." She says, mumbling the last part more to herself. "So why did you choose him?"
You blinked at the ash blond woman's question. You were very used to people asking you this question. More than you would have liked actually. Usually, you would just say it's because he is who he is that you like him. But this was his mother you were talking to and she deserved a more thorough answer than that.
"Well, Katsuki can be really rude. He yells whenever he gets mad and he gets mad a lot. And it's ture that he's stubborn. He even made me miss one of my courses because he wanted me to stay and cuddle with him." You laugh.
"But he's also a very kind person when it matters. Kind in his own way, but it still counts. Although he likes to say he's a loner and that he doesn't need anyone, I know he's very thankful for the people in his life and he cares about them a lot. He's smart, passionate, and strong willed. And even if he's not the best at expressing himself, he always shows that he loves me with every action. And I am very grateful for the love everyday."
Mitsuki's eyes go wide slightly before they soften, crinkling at the edges as she smiles. She places her hands on yours before she speaks. "As his mother, I want to thank you for loving him Y/n."
"You don't need to thank me. It really is my pleasure." You smile back.
"Hey, foods read-, HEY WHY ARE YOU SHOWING HER THOSE PICTURES YOU OLD HAG!" Bakugou shouts from behind you both.
"Dammit Katsuki! CAN'T YOU SEE I WAS HAVING A NICE MOMENT WITH MY DAUGHTER IN-LAW!?" She yells back at him.
"Daughter in-, the hell were you two talking about!?" Bakugou says still angry but trying to hide the blush on his face.
"Just some girl talk." You interrupt the two as you stand up from the couch. You and Mitsuki give each other another smile before she leaves first leaving you and Bakugou alone in the living room.
"She didn't tell you anything weird did she?" Bakugou asks softly, scratching the back of his neck awkwardly.
You shake your head. "I told you we were just talking. Oh! And she let me take pictures of your baby photos."
"Delete those pictures." He says immediately.
"Nope, I'm making it my wallpaper."
"Delete them. Now!"
"C'mon Katsuki, I'm hungry." You say as you make your way back to the kitchen.
"Y/N FUCKING DELETE THEM!" He shouts.
"KATSUKI, WILL YOU STOP FUCKING YELLING!"
...
After dinner, you said your goodbyes to Bakugou's parents before you walked back to the car. Bakugou was about to leave as well, container of your leftovers in hand, when his mother called his name.
"Katsuki," Mitsuki calls out, making him turn back to look at her.
"What now?" He sighs.
"I like that one so make sure you don't let her go."
"Yeah? Well, I wasn't planning to." He smiles at her.
"Also, I'm expecting at least three grandchildren." She says in a matter-of-fact tone.
His face blooms a deep shade of red at the thought, his imagination running wild in his head. "THE FUCK! YOU AIN'T GETTING SHIT!"
