Like, how many times you can take a cutting from a tree that grew from a cutting of a tree that grew from a cutting... on and on and on, until there are whole orchards that are technically the same exact tree, cut into a hundred bits and grown back to tree-ness.

There are thousands of kinds of apples, my friend. Maybe millions. Plant an apple seed and find a whole new kind of apple. (Beware: popular apples get propagated because a lot of the "whole new kind of apple"s, uh... well, they suck.)
