Pretending not to like certain things because you’re worried people will think you’re a loser, ironically, makes you a loser.

Cutting someone off who constantly hurt and manipulated you isn’t enough. You also need to cut off the version of yourself that allowed someone to do you like that over and over and still was given access into your life.
Seeing white people celebrating Cinco de Mayo is so bizarre. They get drunk on tequila and make the same lame jokes they’ve been doing for years. As if Latin America hasn’t been collapsing. As if they haven’t been putting children in cages and tearing families apart. As if their countries and themselves aren’t to blame for many of the problems Latin American countries face. As if people aren’t dying. They have no idea. Seeing them celebrate Cinco de Mayo is so bizarre.
you are allowed to end a relationship with someone if they aren’t loving you the way you want to be loved. it doesn’t—and shouldn’t—always have to be up to you to teach someone how to love you. you can observe how they love, and then choose if you want to participate.
