   Putting on the best Proton-face she could manage, Nana glared icily at the door, her voice sharp as she spoke.

     “Looks like I will have to talk to that grunt then.”

   Just like Alex, she held that act for a moment before her usual silly grin returned to her lips and she looked back at her friend with another wink. Then she chuckled.

     “Well… you didn’t sign anything, did you? They only gave you an uniform, no?”

   Something, which Proton would probably get very upset about - after all, it was supposed to be difficult, to get into the hideout, so the thought that there was a grunt who just gave uniforms to any bypasser was rather amusing to the ace.

     “As long as that is the case, you’re perfectly fine~. It just means that one of the grunts will get a serious cut in pay soon.”

   Given that anyone would ever find out, of course. They wouldn’t hear anything from Nana, though.

   As they spoke, the ace kept scanning Alex’s face over and over again, still being amazed (and rather flustered) by her sudden appearance. It was amazing, really, how much the Lady had changed during these years - and yet, she still was just how Nana remembered her.

     “It’s really great that you’re here.”

   The words had slipped past her lips before Nana even registered them, and now it was her turn to look away (as nonchalant as possible) in order to hide the redness of her cheeks.

"Oh, Nana, that's scary how...scary that is!" Another giggle left the lady's lips as she looked at her imitation of her brother. Yes, they might look shockingly alike from a distance but up close there was no comparison. Nanashi was definitely the more attractive one-and she immediately felt odd for thinking that way, goodness.

"...You're right, I didn't sign anything. They were probably too distracted by my pretty face and your scary orders to think properly." She teased to hide the sudden flip flop of her stomach even as she fidgeted a little in the chair, legs crossing and gloved fingers twining together on her lap.

The ace's next words made her smile once more and her eyes softened. 'I'm happy I was able to find you. I've missed you so much these past two years."

Sure, they had the video chats and letters and texts, but it wasn't the same as meeting in person. Plus, Nanashi was her rival! Pokemon battles with other trainers (besides gym leaders) just didn't have the same heat as theirs had had. Perhaps they would be able battle while they were both in the area...She'd have to remember to ask her later.

"What's a lady to do without her rival?...Unless-" She put on a mock of a sad face, complete with shy gaze and lip tremble. "You...found a new rival..."

   Squeezing Alex’s hand lightly when her own one was grabbed, Nana pulled over another chair, sitting down in front of her friend. Raising her free hand, the girl ran it through her hair - while she liked it, this way of wearing it was so strange - before chuckling softly.

   Yet, the ravenhaired’s last question caused the ace to quickly get serious again. Taking the Lady’s hand into hers, the greenhaired gave Alex another squeeze, looking her into the eyes as she answered.

     “I promise you that I do not. I might be accepted by the grunts, seeing who my brother is, but I don’t approve of what this organization is doing.”

   Here the ace sighed.

     “The guy from before was my brother, Proton. He is one of the Rocket Executives, making him one of the second highest ranking members of Team Rocket…”

   The fact, that he was known to be the most cruel member did she casually decide to tell her friend later… someday. Athough she hated lying, she didn’t want to worry or upset the lady trainer in any way.

     “I’m wearing his uniform because I was bored and… wanted to mess with the grunts a bit.”

   Despite the rather serious topic, Nanashi couldn’t help but smirk slyly here.

     “Even though our hairdo is entirely different, they keep confusing me for him. I already made twenty or so of them clean the hideout, and sent another two out to fetch ‘me’ some donuts.”

   Chuckling, she looked at her friend warmly, before returning her wink from before, with the same flirty smirk her brother would often flash other girls as well.

     “But really, I think the rocket uniform suits you much better than me~.”

   Which wasn’t a lie; Nanashi thought, that Alex looked absolutely stunning in the black attire which was common for female grunts. It was entirely different from what her friend would usually wear - yet it suited her amazingly.

She was used to Nana touching and fixing her hair, so the feeling of her fingers in her hair didn't even make the young woman blink. No, she was more focused on what the other was saying, and there was no mistaking the relieved slump of her shoulders at her words. Rocket could be so cruel sometimes, it just wouldn't have fit her sweet friend. 

"...Proton...?" Alex echoed Nana's words, lips pursing slightly as she considered the name. Yes....She had heard the name before. The specific details of where and in what situation though she couldn't recall. Perhaps it was best for the moment. She didn't want to ruin their meeting after all.

Hearing what the young woman did to the grunts though made her laugh and she shook her head, deciding to move past the issue. "Nana, that's so mean! You probably scared those poor grunts out of  their wits, having them scramble to do such requests-no wonder everybody looked so frantic and busy. Come to think of it, that's probably why no one looked at or questioned me too closely..."

At Nanashi's words she looked down at herself-mostly to hide the blush on her cheeks. How silly of her to be acting this way! Honestly...

"W-Well, I should so hope that I look decent in this at least after everything I went through." She put on a haughty air, mockingly adopting the attitude common of those in her family's economic bracket. "I honestly thought I was going to have to get in a fight with the person trying to dress me in this outfit. First they wanted to cut my hair then they wanted to take my wallet and Pokemon...I wasn't having it, no ma'am!"

She held that offended look before giggling. "At least the other grunts were helpful-or tried to be anyway. They ended up taking me to Proton so I don't think I was too clear with what I was asking...Or maybe they weren't listening." Highly possible, considering how she kept having to repeat her question. Men.

"....Wait, does this mean I joined a cult?" Alex had no problem with the change of clothes but actually being in Rocket? No thank you!

   “He- he did what?!”

   As much as Nanashi loved her brother, there were times where she just wanted to make him an actual rocket, shooting him directly to the moon. Returning her attention to Proton for now - who had done his best to scatter the bystanding grunts by now - the greenhaired glared at the male accusingly. Proton cue raised his hands in defense, yet before he could even start to talk, Nana cut him off.

     “Don’t even try to talk yourself out of this! We’ll discuss this later!”

   Waiting until the male dropped his hands in defeat and sighed, Nana then nodded slightly and turned back to her friend, playing one hand on her back in a somewhat protective manner, gently leading her down the hallway and to the room which she currently inhabited. Arriving there, Nanashi closed the door behind them, before giving the Lady an apologetic look.

     “I’m sorry for all of this, really… and also for never telling you. When your brother is a wanted criminal, you can’t exactly go around and tell everyone…”

   Offering her friend a seat, pulling out the chair for her like a proper gentleman, the ace gave Alex another soft smile then, the faint blush returning to her cheeks.

     “But… I’m really happy that you here. It is a surprise for sure~.”

Alex was quite surprised with the way she handled her her brother, though she supposed she should have expected nothing less from the ace. Nana had a way with...dealing out tough love to those that needed it. She was often the one who took care of the 'annoyances' that came their way who were not content to take losing a battle as a 'no'. Perhaps it was from here where she learned her fierce independence.

She let the young woman guide her down the hall, resisting an urge to sneak a look back at the other's brother. After sitting down in the chair and adjusting her skirt, she leaned forward and caught one of Nana's hands in between hers, looking up at her with curiosity on her face.

"I understand, but I still don't know /who/ your brother is. Or why you are dressed like him." Her eyes scanned over the green-haired woman-playing-man's outfit and a smile quirked up the corners of her lips. "Not that I'm saying anything in the least, it's just a bit amusing as you definitely seem to wear it better than he does. I might be biased though, yes?"

The 'grunt' threw her a playful wink before her expression became serious. "Is this what you've been doing while you've been down here, though? Working with Team Rocket in Johto?"

While she had no personal experiences with the group, her mother's family ran businesses in this region and sometimes she heard things about them. She didn't think Nana would be the type to engage in most of their rumored activities but she still wanted know. Not 'had to know', because she would still be her best friend either way, but wanted to.

   Upon hearing her name, Nana’s own eyes widened in surprise. That voice… could this be…? Removing one of her hands from the girl’s upper arms, the (currently disguised) ace trainer gently raised her hat in order to take a better look at her face.

     “…Alex?”

   It really was her! With the seemingly much shorter hair and clad in a Team Rocket uniform, the greenhaired hadn’t recognized her friend at first, but now there was no doubt about it anymore; this was her best friend and rival!

   Immediately the frown on her face turned into an excited smile, green eyes lightening up as she pulled the currently smaller girl into an embrace. Not few of the grunts around stopped in their tracks to observe the rather strange scene - after all, it did not happen often, that their superior (not knowing that it was, in truth, his little sister) showed any signs of affection.

     “It is you! I barely recognized you in this outfit!”

   Slightly pulling away, the crossdressing woman brushed her fingertips against Alex’ dark strands of hair in amazement, realising now that she had only pinned them up, rather than cut them. It suited her, really, and now that she finally saw her friend in natura again after all this time, Nanashi had to say that the past two years only made the Lady even more beautiful.

   Almost sheepishly the taller girl smiled at Alex, the faintest blush being visible on her face.

     “It looks good on you though. But… why are you wearing a rocket uniform?”

   Like she was one to speak, really. Before either of them could say or do anything else, a familiar person came rushing down the hallway, expression furious; Proton. Holding one of his knifes in his right hand, the executive had locked on to Alex, not realising just who held the girl in their arms - yet.

   Nana’s expression darkened as she immediately understood the situation, and instinctively she pulled her most important friend behind her, stepping between her and his brother - who’s eyes widened in disbelief as he skidded to a halt.

     “Would you mind explain to me, why you’re chasing my best friend through the rocket hideout, brother?”

The lifting of her hat made her shrink away a bit, afraid that she had been mistaken once again, but once the person in front of her spoke she knew. It was Nana! Alex felt a sense of relief sweep through her that she had finally found her and she eagerly returned the hug, fingers twisting slightly in the material of the the other girl's shirt as she closed her eyes. It really had been too long and the day leading up to this point had been so unbelievably hectic. It was nice to something-someone-familiar and comforting, the new way of dressing aside.

When the ace pulled away the lady opened her eyes, a wide smile on her lips and a flush on her cheeks. 

"I could say-and ask-the same about you, Nanashi!" She laughed, her voice and expression bright as she rested her hands lightly on her friend's arms, still maintaining the embrace. The young woman was not quite sure why the other was dressed in such a manner, but really she didn't care. In Alex's humble opinion Nana just happened to be able to look nice no matter what style of clothes she was in-even if that they happened to look like those of a certain mad man...

Speaking of the mad man, he came barreling around the corner, knife in hand just as Alex was about to explain the situation. But before she could even react the other woman had placed herself in between them, both her tone and words more than a little shocking. Peeking out at Nana's...brother from behind her back, she took a moment to glance closer between the two. Well, she could certainly see the family resemblance now. 

"He really is your brother, then? You never mentioned anything about a sibling." She said softly, one hand lightly clinging to the back of Nana's shirt as she was still wary of the man with the knife. "I was trying to find and surprise you since I was in the area when I wound up in here being told I couldn't go any further out of uniform. Then I ran into him thinking he was you and he started freaking out on me so I ran."

   Two years had passed, since Nana left Alex’ side and instead went to travel the world on her own - making new friends and meeting old ones. Since a few weeks, the young ace had been in the Johto region now, visiting her (admittedly rather uncommon) brother there. As usually, Proton had been rather excited to see his sister, spending what little free time he had with her.

   Yet, seeing how the rocket executive had quite a bit of work to do, Nanashi usually would have to figure out how to spend her days - and today she had gotten enlighted; ‘borrowing’ a spare uniform of her brother, the girl had gathered all her talent in make-up, successfully crossdressing - and pulling off a rather believable impression of her brother.

   Disguised like this she walked down the corridors of the Team Rocket hideout, enjoying to watch the reactions of the lower grunts, when all of a sudden someone came sprinting around the corner, running right into the greenhaired.

   Eyes widened in surprise as she stumbled back, yet instinctively Nana reached out to grab the person - a girl - to avoid either of them would tumble to the floor.

     “Woah—!”

This day had been a mess. She had been visiting family in Johto when she remembered that Nanashi had mentioned a while ago that she would also be in the region. Now, of course they had sent messages back and forth but when it came to face to face meetings it had been two years since the last time. And so Alex came up with the brilliant idea to surprise her best friend and one-time rival with a visit.

Only things went horribly wrong. The lady trainer had made it to the city and had eventually been directed by some odd looking locals to an equally odd looking building. Huh. In normal circumstances she would have been quite reluctant to enter but she so desperately missed the ace trainer and wanted to see her again so...in she went. And then a series of things happened all at once.

Rocket grunts-she hadn't had experience with the group personally but she had heard about them-where everywhere, and Alex understandably stood out among them where outfits where concerned. Some helpful young men had directed her to an official looking person who immediately decided that she was a new recruit and had thrust an uniform into her hands and began explaining the rules and everything else. By the time it ended a good bit later the lady was dressed in the new attire with her hair pinned up under her hat (she refused to cut it) and her important items (pokeballs and wallet-she refused to give those up as well) stashed in the bag at her hip. It was horribly confusing but at least the new outfit let her walk around without being questioned-other than by more grunts asking if she was new and if they could help and if she was single. How typical.

No one seemed to be able to direct her to Nana (which Alex was suspecting wasn't really here at all), and she had been about to bolt when she spotted a flash of green hair. Only it wasn't Nana. It was a horribly loud, scary man who immediately demanded to know how she knew Nanashi (his sister?) and threatened to kill her if she didn't tell him. So of course she ran. No way was she going to deal with a murderous psycho on top of everything else.

Turning the corner, she had been looking behind her when she collided with someone solid. A gasp escaped her and her eyes snapped up to look at the person who now grasped her shoulders and she froze. They looked just like the man who was chasing her! Devastatingly handsome, hair a unique shade of green, dazzling eyes, familiar face shape...wait. Her eyes narrowed and she tilted her head to the side, thoughts of fleeing her crazed pursuer momentarily forgotten.

"...Nana? Is...Is that you?"

Someone had let it slip to Alex that her boyfriend had become a Pokemon. A Torchic, no less. So cue her coming over to check it out for herself, spotting the bird, and crouching down in front of him. "Ainsely... ?"

Cue the fire pokemon hopping into her arms. He looked her in the eye. He couldn’t exactly respond back since she couldn’t understand poke speak. He shook the necklace around him hoping she would remember that.

The fire pokemon nodded as he was snug into her arms. In a sense he was glad that he ran into the lady trainer. He shuddered at the fact of what could have happened if he got caught. He remained easy in her arms wondering where Alex would take him.

Straightening up, she glanced down at him for a moment, nuzzling into his feathers as she tried to think of where to go. Alex certainly wasn't going to leave him by himself. But where were his pokes? "Hey babe? Where are Roxy and the others...?"

I like how you come back and just expect to still be Ainsely's number one ship. Nice.

//Oh please. Anon, I do believe you are mistaken. I am not coming back ‘expecting anything’. Certainly not to be anyone’s number one ship. We’re both multiship blogs, yeah? So it really doesn’t matter.

Plus, I think you will be interested in knowing that the whole reason I sent a message is because Ainsely’s mun told me about the M!A. We still rp Alex and Ains together outside of tumblr as well, so it’s not like I’m coming back cold or anything like that. So thanks for your imput, nonnie. I really appreciate it.//

She asked softly, running a hand down the fluff on his head, her fingers lingering on his necklace for a moment before she (gently) hugged him close. The lady was glad she got here before someone attempted to catch him.

 He smiled shaking his head before returning the kiss leaning his forehead against hers. He more than understood that she had a busy schedule.

“Ah its okay! I’m here with ya so that’s all that matters, yeah?" He beamed, He secured his arms around her waist. Holding her as he walked her to the couch so he could chat with here comfortably on her couch.

“So tell, me. How’s the egg I gave you?" He asked. He laid his head down on her shoulders. Fingers entwined with hers.

The lady made no move to resist going to the couch and settled down beside him. She brought her free hand up to brush his unruly hair as she smiled gently at him, her eyes softening at the sight of his face. "The egg? It's doing well...I'm expecting it to hatch any day now~"

The ace trainer’s smile remained as he situated himself so they were both  holding each other well. He leaned in pressing a small kiss on her nose before chuckling.

“I am doing well, Alex! Was wondering when you would get some free time,yeah?”

Considering his busy schedule, He was more than likely to make up for much time he wanted to spend with the heiress. However he could.

The kiss to her nose made her giggle and she quickly leaned forward to claim his lips with her own. Alex had missed her boyfriend something fierce, though she knew she couldn't stay in Sinnoh all the time. Especially if she wanted to continue on with her badge collecting.

"Sorry about that, life sucks sometimes." She stated simply, catching him in another kiss before leaning her forehead against his. "I have free time now, however. I'm all yours~"

Ainsely came behind her, arms looped around her waist. He then tapped her nose softly. "Hey, Alex~" He said as soon a wide grin grew on his face.

As soon as a pair of arms slipped around her waist she knew who it was. “Hello to you as well, Ainsely~” The heiress turned around to face him and wrapped her arms around his neck, scrunching up her nose at the tap.

"How are you~?"
