the  smell  of  laundry  detergent  fills  the  air,  accompanied  by  idle  chatter  and  gossip of  gotham  city’s  inhabitants.  arms  carry bloodstained shirts  and  dirtied  jeans  ;  which  are  sorted  and  divided  over  two  piles  before  being  tossed  into  one  of  the  many  laundry  machines.  his  back  is  turned  to  the  other,  whose  words  elicit  an  undignified  snort  from  jason’s  direction.     ‘     thanks.   appreciate    it.  good   t’   know   you   consider   yourself   t’   be   a   toilet.   you   want   anythin’   from   the   vending   machine   ?    some   soda   to   flush   down  your   system   ?      ’

the duo looks almost displaced in this environment  ,  the clock strikes 2am as the last of the customers file out leaving only he  ,  jason  ,  and the employees to tend to their business  .  bloodied gear catches virgil’s eyes before he looks jason over once more  ,  apprehension apparent on raised brows and a mouth left partially open  .    ❛      shut up  ,  man   . . .   and nah   —   gotta cut back on my soda ‘n all that junk  .  it’s been gettin’ harder ‘n harder to carry myself those damn lids  .  plus frieda ‘n me got some plans comin’ up once summer pulls up  .  gotta look good  ,  you already know   !     ❜

honestly??  Storm is that kind of extra™ that won’t ever let you forget where she’s from and who she is no matter the question or conversation. You could literally ask her if she wanted Burger King or Popeyes, and she’d say “I, Ororo Munroe a.k.a. Storm of Kenya, Leader of the X-Men, former Leader of the Morlocks and Queen of Wakanda aches with indecisiveness within my breast.
