One thing I learned in this life is that you can’t explain to a miserable person how much you aren’t miserable. They view your circumstances in the lens that if it was happening to them, they’d be existentially miserable. So when you’re not, and just expressive? It confuses them.

It’s safer for them to land on misery, because anything else forces them to actually use their brain and understand that life is far more complexed than 2 descriptors.

The thing that everyone really needs to understand about this is that, under the capitalist mode of production, this is correct and rational behavior. The problem isn’t that we have a bunch of rich people who all just so happen to be evil; being evil is what makes you rich.
