I want to shout into a void. I want to scream. I can no longer contain the chaos that is inside of me. My doctor asks, "Do you need to take the test again?" Why bother?

My Aversion to "Glow-Ups"
My Aversion to “Glow-Ups”
glow–up (plural glow-ups) The complete transformation of a person’s appearance for the better. First, let’s talk about the elephant in the room. When I was 20, fresh out of college, I got assaulted by someone I trusted. Whenever I told anyone my story, they’d ask me “What were you wearing?” as if the sleeveless top and jeans I wore was a sign that I was asking for it. Again and again, I was…

Regrets
Someone once asked me if I’m happy. And it kind of stung. I have made drastic decisions this year of cutting out people from my life and finally pursuing a childhood dream of going to law school. Life could have been so different otherwise.
So when I fail quizzes or miss out on events, of course, it is difficult. There are times I would rather be on social media than reading a case. (Obviously,…

In An Alternate Universe
In An Alternate Universe
Disclaimer: I don’t want to compare digital nomads with students, lawyers or full-time practitioners. This isn’t about that. As long as you’re happy, there’s no problem with me. This is simply me, weighing and overthinking my options.
Have you ever thought of how you would live your life in alternate universe? I have, and the vision is pretty clear in my head. I dream of palm trees against a…

I've decided otherwise.
I’ve decided otherwise.
Hello, I’m back. ♥
I wonder if anyone still passes by this little blog on the Internet. Ever since I closed down my old blog, I haven’t found the drive to post consistently. I haven’t written for myself much either. But I need to take a moment to pause and calm myself. Nothing worked better before than writing. So, here I am with my faulty word play and tangled thoughts.
2016 was a difficult…

Letters to Malcolm
Mahal kong Malcolm,

Last year, I had been very busy with work. A lot of family problems arose, including my dad’s stroke. I barely had time for leisure, much less for out-of-town trips. Thankfully, my friends decided to book a room at Azure to celebrate my birthday in November.
Everyone was posting about the place, so we decided to check it out. Unfortunately, I don’t have the number of the owner of the room. If you’re interested to book, you can just check Facebook and Instagram. Some units are also available via Air BnB. Make sure to compare which ones have better service and lower prices. Room rates varies from P2, 800 to P3, 500. Each room usually accommodates 4 people, and we have been told that Azure is very strict about guest limits.
The room we got was fully furnished with adorable and girly trinkets. It also overlooked the pool. We were lucky to get a room in the higher floors, but if you’re not able to, you can always hang out at the roof deck which has chairs and benches and overlooks the metro.
My friends decided to use the kitchen and cook but if you want to get takeout, it won’t be a hassle at all. SM Bicutan is right across the street which coincidentally had a fireworks display that night while we were having dinner! #swerte
We spent the night having a movie marathon and goofing around. Then, in the morning, we tried swimming at the Paris Hilton Beach Club. It features a man-made beach and a wave pool. The club is definitely the main attraction of Azure. It only charges a 20 Pesos entrance fee to the guests. However, by late morning, the pool got too crowded so we had to go back up to our room.
Overall, our stay in Azure was pleasing and worthwhile. I lived for quick staycations to give my mind a breather in between the stress. Ultimately, it was the company that I enjoyed the most. I cannot wait to see these girls again!

CareDivas: A Different Kind of Date
CareDivas: A Different Kind of Date
For many millennials, weekends are reserved for trips, outings and dates. With the diverse offerings the metro has, there is never a shortage of things to do. Even the theater scene is booming, from one-act plays to full-length musicals! It’s time to take a break from the stress and the traffic. Turn of the TV and drown out the news. Break free from the routine of a movie-and-dinner date. This…

Wait by Russell Kelfer
Wait by Russell Kelfer
A former colleague shared this to me last year, and I found it in my files. My situation has been reversed now, but it still applies. Hope you find inspiration from it, too!
Wai by Russell Kelfer
Desperately, helplessly, longingly, I cried; Quietly, patiently, lovingly, God replied. I pled and I wept for a clue to my fate . . . And the Master so gently said, “Wait.”
“Wait? you say wait?” my…

Do you have what it takes to step into their PONY Shoes?
Hey, guys! I’m so happy to be able to give you the first look on this crazy group of kids here on my blog and see for yourself why they got scouted. Last year, we scoured universities from Metro Manila and key provinces to find the crazy ones. The gals with flair and the guys who dare embody the core of PONY: Young, Rebellious Spirit and Street.
Meet Jules, Jandall, Patrick, Frank, Ara, Bianca and Andrea – Campus Ambassadors who reject that status quo and dare to stand out from the rest. These rad kids were chosen to represent the heritage of the anti-establishment brand.
A wild mix of unique personalities from all over the country. We brought them together for a complete PONY Campus Ambassador experience- a magazine photo shoot and a chance to meet the other misfits.
The athletes, Jules from UP Diliman and Bianca from Mapua, brought to the shoot their extreme passion for sports. Patrick from Ateneo De Davao, a guy with mad love for cross-fit, added a nice diversity to this fit bunch.
The dancers, Jandall from University of San Carlos and Frank from San Beda College, pumped up the photo shoot with a bit of Pop N’ Lock and a lot of Hip-hop.
The life of the party, Cosplayer Ara from Ateneo De Davao and Gamer-girl Andrea from National University, kept the group upbeat with their high level of energy and unique charisma. These two were my favorites from the start, and I’m a #proudmomma now that they made it to the final batch. ♥
Each came with their own brand of swag and with the PONY Campus Ambassador experience, emerged as a solid crew – the first generation of Pony Campus Ambassadors.
Do you have what it takes to be part of the next batch of PONY’s Campus Ambassadors?
Post a rad selfie on Instagram, tag us @PONY_PH and use the hashtag: #PONYGetScouted2016. Include in your post your name, age and school.
Be sure to show-off your own brand of swag in the photo and LET’S GET IT ON! We’re looking for the next group rad kids who can fill their PONY Shoes. Don’t miss out on updates. Follow us on Facebook: PonyPH, Instagram: @pony_ph, and Twitter: @Pony_Ph.

The Overnight Bag of a Marketing Girl
The Overnight Bag of a Marketing Girl
I was discussing with a friend the other day how much of a better packer I have become since I started working full-time in marketing. A year ago, I would have been dependent on my mom to pack my bags for me, but after being sent to out-of-town events in a short notice several times, I have acquired a few tricks up my sleeve on top of the essentials. #adulting Black shirts are essential. Pack one…

Monster Jam Returns to Manila And I am more excited than my brothers. Last year, Fox Channel's Monster Jam debuted in Manila at the SM Mall of Asia arena.
QUEZON CITY – The Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA) partners with The Necessary Theatre to bring to its stage the multi-awarded and highly acclaimed The Normal Heart on June.
A largely autobiographical piece by playwright and activist Larry Kramer, The Normal Heart follows the rise of HIV-AIDS in the 1980’s through the eyes of Ned Weeks, a passionate writer in New York. At a time when the disease was still unknown to many, the characters find themselves fighting for medical support against a sickness that was plaguing their community. The play premiered in the Philippines at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium, RCBC Plaza last July 2015. When PETA officers saw the performance, they felt the need to bring the play to a larger audience. On top of its powerful acting and beautiful staging, the play tackles the relevant and timely issue of HIV and AIDS, a topic that is close to PETA’s heart. The company immediately contacted The Necessary Theatre to produce a re-staging of The Normal Heart – this time, at the PETA Theater Center.
The partnership between the two theater companies opens a wider avenue for the play’s advocacy to be promoted. Director and lead actor, Bart Guingona, is also excited about the partnership. “PETA is known for doing essential Filipino work and this venture expands its purview to include universally resonant materials not necessarily written by, but mounted by, and relevant to all Filipinos. We hail this opportunity to partner with an institution as vital and important as PETA. Although set in early eighties New York, it talks about universal issues such as the political nature of health care and of activism as a necessary factor in effecting change. It is also an opportunity to sound the alarm bells for the growing HIV crisis among our own youth.”
This is especially appropriate for Quezon City where the highest number of HIV and AIDS cases in NCR has been recorded in 2014 and 2015. Both companies hope to ignite awareness among the audience on HIV, AIDS and its prevention through the staging of this socially significant play.
Love Yourself, a community of volunteers that strongly advocate testing and education on HIV, is also a partner in this project. They will provide a discussion after every show with the audience members to discuss and process their thoughts on the piece. In this way, the play’s advocacy not only sparks an emotion among those who have seen it but also translates into a call to action to fight the disease and the stigma around it.
This re-staging is also supported by private companies that believe and support the play’s advocacy, including DKT International, Bliss, Café Diem and Recipes Restaurants.
The Normal Heart will run on June 3 (8pm), June 4 (3pm and 8pm) and June 5 (3pm and 8pm) at the PETA Theater Center located at No. 5 Eymard Drive, New Manila, Quezon City on. For tickets, please log on to http://www.ticketworld.com.ph or call the PETA Theater Center office at (0927) 391 7379 or 725 6244 loc. 23.

#Saltwater Journey: Cleanse.
Much like the popular diet fad, I feel like my life is in dire need of a ‘cleanse.’
I needed to weed out all the toxic elements that have piled up. It was evident in my planner.
My to-do list has become mighty lengthy. My schedule was unorganized, and some days passed by with a literal blur.
It was even evident in my room. My closet was bursting with clothes and shoes that I didn’t wear. My floor…

#Saltwater Journey: Finding the Perfect Love
#Saltwater Journey: Finding the Perfect Love
Isak Dinesen said “The cure for anything is salt water: sweat, tears or the sea.” In my case, those three were in reverse order.
I found myself, staring at the wide open sea, missing a certain person. I let the sun touch my skin a little bit more, and the salt sting my face from a whole day of snorkelling. My hair was dripping wet, and my dress was damp over my swimwear. The view was vast and…

#RizziWhereYouAt: Over Coffee and Beating Hearts
I’m back.
Wow. Has it really been more than 3 months since my last blog post? My site has been quiet which can only mean one thing: life happened. Let’s catch up, shall we?
For the Love of Theater
I spent the last 3 months following my passion. Once I realized that PR and marketing work is my calling, the next step was to find the one thing I could write about forever. Theater and writing,…

Twenty-two ♥
They said the way you begin your year indicates how your whole year will go. There wasn’t much that happened on my birthday, contrary to the eventful year that was. An afternoon at the orphanage and a night with fellow Church servants. If that is how the rest of my 22nd year will go, I won’t mind. Cheers to another year for others, another year for God. Not to be cliché but I truly feel #bles…
