Reading Retreats in Rural Italy

Welcome to La Macchina Fissa, the new seat of the cultural association Reading Retreats in Rural Italy! Like our home itself, this website is under construction. In November and December of 2015 we moved over 6,000 books, 1,000 plants, and 250 artworks. For the next few years we will be continuing to work on the house and garden... but the first guest rooms are ready, so come visit! The place is already beautiful and full of excitement in this "work-in-progress" stage - and feel free to lend a hand if you want to!
