We first heard about Lambersart in 1101 which was called at that time Lambert.
The Bourg of Lambersart was the old agricultural village. It stayed a little village until the XIXth Century, when Lille became a big city.
We do not have many information about that past, but only a military stone from 1670 and ruins of a Royal Colosseum from 1787.
Manors, villas, and castles were built at the end of the XIXth Century, during the apogee of the city.
Lambersart wealth was built on laundry, brickyard and textile industry. Some of the districts of the town still have the mark of this times in their architecture.
Lambersart now takes part of Lille Métropole and has an active part in its activities.
