in our CtL game my changeling is pretty apathetic, not possessing an interest in rejoining human society or recovering their memories like most of the motley. then on a bus ride back from the goblin markets, a conversation with a stranger suddenly sparked a memory of them enjoying classical music when they were young. they allowed themselves to ask for a radio from the npcs housing us so they could indulge in that experience again when they're alone 🥺

anyway the vc was teasing about flax getting into emo music like linkin park and shit and now they DO have a linkin park song on their character playlist. i'm so fucking mad.

if there's one thing i want out of a future ff14 expac......... it's an amnesia arc..... ..... yes it would be convoluted after the player has already experienced several expansions with the scions, and yes there's a popular post-1.0 amnesia headcanon among players already, but watching the wol stumble their way through the company of strangers who already revere and care for them while either in the midst or at the cusp of a universe-shattering crisis is delicious to me!!!!!

This would rule but I also think the reverse would be really fun. Collective magical amnesia about the WoL and their adventures and so now there’s this ludicrously strong person who seemingly knows a lot about everyone who no one has ever heard of, but they’re trying to rally people to stop this world-ending threat no one’s ever heard of. Throw in some propaganda about the WoL being a villain initially for extra angst.

It could also be a fun exploration of where the Scions would be without the WoL, how their lives might’ve ended up or the paths they’d have taken, since so much of their growth has been tied to the actions of the WoL.
