I have a whole story that this character isn’t even apart of… I’m procrastinating with world building.

This is Ailbe (she/her), she is an easily amused dark fairy who likes to stand out. Here is the fairy court system so all these fairy types make sense to anyone besides me.

The more I write about them, the more I fall in love with them, so, let’s talk about my OC,

Ailbe!

Ailbe (Ale-Bi) - who is that? Ailbe is a non-binary individual who prefers to keep their face covered. They are as androgynous as the days are long, and prefer clothing that is unisex. For physical appearance, Ailbe has about shoulder length ashy hair, and dark eyes. Their skin tone is left up to interpretation, and their facial features are rather plain, with no interesting adornments (like piercings or tattoos) to note of. For Ailbe, their physical body has never been one of great importance in terms of appearance.

Ailbe suffers from a form of aphasia. While they are able to speak (although recognition of words may be slightly delayed, depending on what is being discussed), they are unable to read or write, but their ability to perceive and understand colours remain, and it is this colour recognition that allows Ailbe to continue their pursuit of knowledge. Ever the contrary, Ailbe is studious from what past teachings they were taught, and currently, through a teacher who is understanding of their situation.

Ailbe is a Dark Souls OC, featuring in “Patches Goes on an Adventure”, who studies beneath Big Hat Logan. Logan took pity upon the offensively labelled “Ailbe the Aphasic”, and initially uses them to fetch and scout during his time in Lordran. Upon demonstrating their aptitude and talent for sorceries, Logan allows them to learn conservatively beneath him through word-of-mouth, and colour codes. Ailbe may have been written as a Dark Souls OC, there’s a likely chance they’ll appear through other fandom fics I write.

Ailbe was written to be a sort of opposite to Trusty Patches. While Patches is often suspicious, Ailbe is often trusting. Where Patches is cruel, Ailbe is considerate. Where Patches is quick-witted and opportunistic, Ailbe is naïve and a push-over. Although opposite in nearly every way, they both possess traits that the other would severely benefit from - but that’s not something either of them will realize for a while.

If there was ever a saying to describe Ailbe, it would be, “accentuate the positive.”
