Seeing as how #JessicaJones is the best thing to come out of the MCU so far AND it features a strong female lead and a female creator/showrunner, I guess the question is: what were you waiting for, Marvel-Disney?

1) A story that isn't overly dependent on CGI and lazy, reductive storytelling? How does one even get a project greenlight without either of those nowadays? 2) Female character who isn't marginalized and/or used as window-dressing. Did Marvel-Disney know this was being made? How unlike them... 2a) Correct me if I'm wrong, but this feels the first Marvel-Disney Cinematic Universe project that passes the Bechdel Test (for those who track those things). 3) Another Marvel-Disney first: a villain who isn't a completely ineffective pawn and/or pure comic relief (although Tennant does have darkly comedic moments). 4) A grounded, believable depiction of PTSD as opposed to, you know, whatever that silly nonsense Tony Stark is/was dealing with. 5) A supporting cast that is at least above-average. Granted the bar is set pretty low with terrible renditions of Foggy Nelson running around the MCU. 6) Bonus shot at DC: CAM's Hogarth, while petty and morally ambiguous, is much less insulting to women (and thinking-people everywhere) than CF's over-filtered, Miranda-Priestly-wannabe Cat Grant. Side note: is Supergirl part of a plot by the patriarchy to erode progress that women have made in Western society?
