Lana doesn't dress very out of the ordinary. She likes to be comfortable, but likes to look cute as well. I don't have much to write here. Look at Nina's wardrope on TVD and that's Lana :P

Lana's faceclaim is Nina Dobrev, and that is what she looks like. She is about 5'5". She's a mutt, her parents are a mix of a bunch of different races, mostly European races. She has a few scars, mostly from childhood accidents. She has a small brown birthmark on the back of her hip, right above her pantline. Her hair is long and straight, dark brown. Her eyes are brown. She is skinny, but very fit and healthy.

Lana is twenty years old. She was born on December 4th, 1992. She was in college, a junior with only a couple years left. She looks her age. She was always intelligent, but not any more so than many people her age.

Lana died on October 17th, 2013.

Lana's mother picked out the name Lana, her father picked out the name Jessica but her mother thought it was too overused. "She is coming out my my body, I want to name her Lana!"

Her father picked the middle name Gene, after his mother. He wanted to pick "Jo" after his own name (Joseph) but again, her mother refused. "Okay, and what if we have a boy next time? I'm not going to have a Lana Jo, and a Jo Jr. That's too many Jo's for me to deal with. I'm letting you pick her middle name, but pick something else."

Lana didn't have many nicknames from friends at school. Her name was already short enough. But when her little sister was young and beginning to talk, she was never able to say "Lana", and instead took to calling her big sissy "Lala." It stuck, and even though Lala is mostly just a fond memory, whenever Lana's younger sister was feeling sad or upset she would crawl into Lana's bed and say "Lala, I need some advice." Those were some of Lana's favorite nights. She loved her little sister so much.

In middle school the boys thought it was absolutely HILARIOUS when they came up with a certain rhyme for Lana's name. "Lana Gene, more like Ug-Ah-Lee! Hahahahahaha!!!!!!" Lana didn't find it particularly funny, nor did she see how it even made sense. Lana Gene did not rhyme with ugly.

14 Character Development Questions That Will Answer (Almost) Absolutely Everything!

There are thousands of guides and questionnaires floating around the internet that claim they have the answer to your character development needs- ways to make well-rounded characters that you can practically reach in and grab right off the page. The downside to that is that these questionnaires are usually over 100 questions long. Keeping this in mind, I’ve formed a condensed list that should help you develop your M.C. (and supporting characters!) in a shorter amount of time.

How old is your character? (What grade are they in? What is their age? When were they born? Do they look young for their age? Old for their age? Do they know more/less than they should at this age?)

What is in your character’s memory? (What do they remember most vividly? Do they have selective amnesia? Can they remember things from a young age? How old were they in their first memory? Do they have pleasant memories of their parents/friends? Did they leave anyone behind? Why?)

Where does your character live? (Is it a nice place? A real place? Urban/rural? Dangerous/crime-free? Is it a community of primarily one race? Is it a diverse community? Is it a strictly conservative community? What does the community think of the character/ their family? Where did the character live before this? Why did they move? Do they wish they could live somewhere else?)

What is your character’s room like? (Is it messy? Are there clothes all over the floor, or is everything stacked up neatly and put away? Do they have a lot of posters or furniture? Do they just sleep on a single mattress in the middle of the room? Do they have a lot of clothes? Do they share a room with another person/people? Is it small/big? Do they even have a room, or do they live in a garage/tent/cardboard box? Are they homeless? Where do they sleep?)

What is your character good at? (Do they have any special abilities? What about powers? Are they smart? Do they excel in school or at sports? Can they do something that no one else can? Why do people admire/dislike them? Are they estranged because of what they do well?)

What does your character want? (This is your most important question! What will propel your character to do everything you have in store for them? What is their ultimate goal? What will they sacrifice everything in order to achieve?)

What does your character do when they’re not at home? (Does your character like to go out with their friends, or do they hardly ever go out? Do they go to church every day? Where do they go? Why? Has it been around for a long time? Why do they keep going back? If they don’t go out, why not?)

What does your character like to do? (Even if your character isn’t good at it, do they have something they like to do? Are they horrible singers with a love for vocals, or are they a bad actor who wants to take the stage? Do they always stop to play the electric pianos in the toy department, even if they have no idea how to?)

How does your character love? (Are they extremely clingy, or do they like open relationships? What is their sexual orientation? Do they identify as male, female, both, or neither? How do they classify their ideal partner? Do they think appearances are as important as personalities? More important? Less important? To what extent will your character protect the one they love?)

What will ultimately destroy your character? (What is the worst possible thing that can happen to your character? Why? How can this be prevented? What will they do if it happens anyway? How will this impact their personality? Will they change at all?)

Pounding Hearts (AU)

Araxie was somewhat of a rare creature when it came to the world. Her mother had been an actress and so had her grandmother before her. They were both the golden girls of cinematic history and expected her to follow in their footsteps. She had attempted when she was young, had been somewhat of an Annie girl. Did mainly plays on large Broadway stages that people always admired her for. But at the ripe age of nine her life was already swirling out of control. Her mother started seeking out other men and cheating on her father. Her dad was often away on business trips and Araxie was left with her nanny and manager. It was a cold lonely life for any grade school child to experience.

That is why she decided to quit that lifestyle at such a young age, she wanted to end it before it truly started. With a heavy heart Araxie took the consequences and was sent to private school. A school which she’d escaped from when she turned fifteen to live in a small house built into a cave under a mountain by the sea. It seemed something out of a story book. She adored living there. Araxie took the opportunity to write stories and was published various times under another name. Sometimes she visits town but those visits are not often. Three, four times a year only to get the necessities. She lives off of the land.

This cold morning was one of those rare occasions. She prepped so for it, dying her hair red from hair dye she’d gotten years ago and wearing the most next door outfit she could find in her home made clothes closet. Araxie walked the streets as a girl named Sarah who often visited her grandfather that resided in that town. “Hello!” - “How are you today?” you would hear her cheerfully calling out to everyone that walked by. The last thing she wanted to seem was mysterious, that only led to questions.

Finally, the familiar coffee place she so adored came into view, the young girl walked in and order her usual caramel coffee with whipped cream before looking around for a seat. Everything was so busy, she rounded the corner and decided to check the back where sometimes some of the people that liked posing for her photographs sat. Most were full except one where a girl was sitting asleep, a few guys from the table next to hers were studying her, their eyes saying enough to make Araxie not give a second thought to sitting in front of her. “Umh, excuse me?” she said loud enough for just the girl to hear. She placed her coffee down in front of her and folded her arms on the table looking at the other girl expectantly.

Lana had been having the most wonderful dream. She was human again, and everything was back to normal. It was the most normal dream she could ever remember having, and that's what made it so nice. She woke up, she was getting ready for school. She could smell the breakfast her mother was cooking. She could hear her little sister's obnoxious music playing from down the hall. What made the dream feel the most normal was what she couldn't smell or hear.... blood.

She was just getting ready to get on the bus when she heard her mom yelling from the house. "Uhm, excuse me?" Lana turned around to see what her mom wanted, but as she turned she could feel the ground underneath her falling away. Was this an earthquake? She felt her entire body jerk.... and she was awake.

Right... coffee shop, vampire... it took her a second to remember that her life wasn't normal anymore. Lana looked up at the girl sitting at her table. Her neck was pulsing slightly, her blood was flowing so easily through her veins.. It would only take Lana minutes to completely drain her of it.

Snap out of it.

Lana Sat up the rest of the way, She checked her mouth to make sure she hadn't drooled. She felt a little disoriented after waking up from such a normal dream. "Um.. sorry, do you need something?" Lana asked the woman hesitantly. She was trying to focus on the smell of the coffee, but there was so much blood around her... The men at the table next to her were full of it. They were all larger, maybe they were jocks. Football players... Lana lifted her hands to her temples and rubbed them, trying to give off the impression that she had a headache. She was really just trying to force herself to focus.. focus on anything but the blood. Why was this lady still here? Lana breathed in deeply, calming herself.. trying to, anyway. "Sorry.. um, I'm Lana.. Can I help you with something?" She asked again, trying to seem a little nicer.

Pounding Hearts (AU)

Lana had only been a vampire for a couple weeks now. The first few days were hard. Too hard to think about. But she was finally beginning to feel like she could act normal in public again. She didn't tell (insert random name here idk what the guy's name is going to be yet) that she was leaving. She waited until he was asleep and snuck out.

Thankfully she remembered to put her daylight ring on. Lana still couldn't believe that not only did vampires exist, but witches as well. She ran from her new home all the way to the outskirts of the city. She loved being able to run so fast. She felt like she could run forever without stopping, and that excited her more than anything else.

She had to stop before anyone saw her though. She knew the rules. No one could know that she was a vampire. No one. If anyone found out, she had either kill them or compel them, and (random name) hadn't taught her how to do the latter yet.

Lana walked for a long time. The city seemed like a new place now that she was changed. The colors were brighter, the sounds were louder, the scents were stronger. It was great at first, but she began to feel overwhelmed. She could hear conversations that she wasn't supposed to hear. She could smell coffee from a mile away, she could smell the dirty diapers of the kids in the houses she passed, she could smell the sewers underneath the streets.... but most of all, she could smell the blood. It began to take her over. Lana had to do something. She thought about just going home, but she knew she had to face it at some point.

She walked into the first coffee shop she found, hoping that the strong scents of the pastries and coffee would drown out the scent of blood and that the whisperings of those around her would drown out the beating of their hearts and the sound of their blood rushing through their veins.

It didn't cover them up completely, but it did help. Lana walked to the front of the store and ordered a coffee. She was headed to the counter with the condiments to add sugar, but the woman standing there smelled so nice. It wasn't her perfume, it was her blood. Lana stopped in her tracks, she could feel her fangs pushing out. She closed her eyes. She held her breath. She stayed there for a moment reminding herself that this woman probably had a family, friends, maybe a kid or a dog. When Lana opened her eyes she walked away from the counter and straight to a table in the back of the shop, furthest away from anyone else.

Lana wasn't feeling well. She took a drink of her coffee and tried to convince herself that she was fine, but she wasn't. She shouldn't have left her house this morning alone. She should have listened to (name) when he told her to stay put. Maybe feeling like a prisoner was better than this. She wanted to tear apart every single person in this building. Lana laid her head down on the table and tried to drown out everything around her.

She soon found herself dozing off. She couldn't help it. She was so overwhelmed, and hadn't slept much lately. She was so tired... She drifter further into sleep, the sounds and smells of the blood around her slowly faded away. And there she slept on that coffee shop table until someone finally woke her up.

Dear Diary,

They say that right before you die your entire life flashes before your eyes. Maybe if you're dying slowly and have time to think about it that may be the case. But when it happens so fast, as fast as a speeding bullet, you don't have time to think about your life. All I felt was terror. An instant of terror, and it was over.

But it wasn't. Not really, anyway. I died. But not really.

What I mean is that I'm still here. But I'm not quite the same. I mean, I'm still Lana. But, well... I'm not sure how to say it without sounding crazy.

I guess I'm a vampire. Well, not yet. Not completely. After I finish writing this I will be, though. I'm not sure if that changes who I am. I still feel like myself. But things are different. Obviously things are different. I'm about to be a vampire, for fuck's sake. But I've also been living a second life without even knowing about it. And I'm only beginning to remember it now that I've woken up.

Everything's changed now. My family thinks I'm missing. The robbery that caused my death turned into a massacre. I'm living with a man I've apparently known for years now, but only remember meeting last night. And all I can think about is blood.

But I'm still me. I'm still Lana, right?

Maybe. I'm not quite sure about anything anymore.

This is a roleplay/character development page for my new character, Lana Hart. She is a part of the Vampire Diaries universe, but is not in any way connected to the characters in the show. The only similarity is that all of the rules are the same. The way a vampire lives, the supernatural creatures that exist, etc. And yes, Nina Dobrev fc, cliche, I know. But she's my favorite so.

I'm still not sure if I will want to para with anyone else, although that could be a possibility. I just want to write and develop her and have something to do while procrastinating my college work :P

So, I don't really expect anyone to discover this page. It's main purpose is for me to have a place to write. With tumblr I can write out of order, post random things, and just write ooc if I wanted to, whereas in microsoft word I feel like I have to write in order and keep the main storyline going and it's just so intimidating to me.

So, that's that. I don't know what else to say. Sooooo..... here's Lana!
