character design notes below:

blaize:

his clothing references traditional wear of hotter places on earth (usekh collar = egypt, dhoti = india). yes, i am aware the flame pants are a little silly, that was intentional lol

his top scars allude to the fact that he and selune are "identical" twins. they were originally put there during conception to break up the sea of grey on his chest, but i liked em a lot so they stayed :]

his darker skin is a reference to a solar eclipse!

blaize's hair has a noticeable gradient the further down it goes; this is both for aesthetics and to show temperature differences!

his design is more bottom-heavy to contrast with his sister.

blaize has lots of gold to invoke feelings of warmth and heat!

sun halo = solar starchild, if the references weren't enough lol

selune:

her clothing is also based on traditional wear; with her, it's a kimono! (the top part, anyway).

selune's heavier build is made to invoke a motherly presence! yes, giving her a fat rack and thick thighs was very important (lol) the moon is grandest at its roundest, after all :]

her physical hair is the "bob" shape you see - the intangible curtain of starlight projects from the back.

her hidden eyes creates an interesting contrast with blaize - selune keeps them covered to protect those around her from her gaze, while he keeps one uncovered.

selune's design is more top-heavy to contrast with her brother.

she has lots of silver to invoke coolness and serenity!

lunar halo = lunar starchild! hehehe

both:

the crystal on their chest functions as a "core", one that was formed with their explosive creation. yes its steven universe-like LEAVE ME ALONE /s

their opposing clothing weights allude to the fact that they were meant to be one individual (before their forms became unstable, blaize and selune were meant to be a twilight starchild)

the fat tits have next to no lore reason. stand underneath them and you'll see an eclipse lol

ink thalias, my satyr-hybrid oc! used to be my sona, now they’re in their own little universe 💜🖤

inkque thalias, known as ink for convenience (and because it's pronounced the same) is a 24 year old half-fae geep - being half satyr, half anthro sheep, and thus has both a metaphorical and literal hoof in both worlds. being a bit of hermit due to anxiety and a lack of true belonging, ink lives in a small cottage in the outskirts of the magical fae realm althaime (alt-haym), often dipping in the lands between for one reason or another; such proximity to the physical realm often results in assorted items and junk turning up near their home, usually stuff that's gone missing and will never be found. such stuff, including clothes, half-used tubes of paint and bits of technology, have influenced ink's appearance and hobbies over the years. and what they don't need, they sell to whoever wants it- usually in exchange for food or sweet wine, a love inherited from their father.

one of my sonic ocs, sable the cat!

19-yr old sable is a quiet and meek character who always stays up way too late reading up on occult (while being a hermit) and is a background character, both literally and in her own life, until she curiously touches a pink warp ring during a multidimensional warp event. this lands her in the twisted realm of ephemera, inhabited by a very lonely crystalline individual.

designs of sable and a newly remade kunzite!

being a variant of (alt) xenophanes; the young kunzite spawned into existence from a fragment of the crystalline hedgehog. he lives a small & lonely existence; with the entity not completely understanding emotions and the concept of having a soul, unlike the animals and individuals that populated his realm of ephemera. after starting with killing flickies in the world out of morbid curiosity and hunger, kunzite became enamoured with the idea of preserving and slowly savouring each soul he came across - the more pain the creature experienced before their ultimate demise at his hands, the better they tasted and felt. being a soulless being, it was the closest kunzite could get to experiencing true emotion. as he devoured, he also felt the feelings tied to memories; experienced in a few blinks of an eye. he still felt hollow, but this and their meat fulfilled him - just enough to matter in his aimless drifting. whether from finally finding an end to his years-long loneliness or from tasting the essence and emotion of something sapient, kunzite changed - over time, kunzite became extremely attached to sable, something many .exes would find utterly pathetic. reciprocating a weird co-dependant relationship where the guy has gutted you and made you bleed countless times out of morbid curiosity is definitely one of the weirder situations that she's been in.

neve (niamh/knee-v) is the bubbly grandchild of cyril, having been born to a non-elemental dragon father and an ice dragon mother; resulting in their fluffy appearance and birdlike wings. their existence completely contradicts their grandfather‘s gloating about pure bloodlines, but he loves them just the same and has happily taken his mixed grandchild under his wing to train them in the powers of their royal ancestors. the young dragon is younger than amor (my qpp @entesi's oc <3) as well as spyro and cynder, the egg arriving to the guardians mere days before malefor's raid.
