Comics “Blood ties”, page 13

To be honest, at some point I decided that I would finish drawing this scene (now you see the last page of it) and on this I will finish the creation of the comic due to the senselessness of this employment. However, now that for the first time in a long time the process has begun to give me pleasure, I am already much less categorical. Of course, now I need to sit, think, plan what and how to do next (I remind you that the project originally appeared from the spontaneous first page, made for fun, there was no question of the integrity of the work). But I think that the new pages of the comic will still be released in the future.

This time pencil and ink were drawn on paper, only retouching and color were done on the computer. Perhaps the quality dropped a little because of this, but the speed of page creation increased.

Emilie and Sereda in stylization

On New Year's my wife and I watched "Klaus". We really liked the visuals and on the advice of my wife I tried to draw the characters of our comics in a strong stylization (not necessarily like in "Klaus"). Here's what came of it.

Perhaps you could pay attention to one of the characters in our comic - the grumpy guard of Skingrad. Initially it was supposed to be a random character, but we decided to think about it deeper. In the end, it was based on Jim Hopper from the TV series "Stranger Things", played by David Harbour, since we really like this character and it was difficult for us to imagine someone else as a guard. And although the character is unlikely to appear in the comic after the scene at the house, we sketched the general features of his biography. His name is Tiberius Pelana. He is a middle-aged imperial, single-handedly raising a young son, cause his wife fled with a young Breton aristocrat to the beaches of Summerset. In this regard, Tiberius hates young rich handsome men (ironic, considering what role he got in the comic). In the future, we came up with the fate of not only the guard, but about this some other time. In the comic, due to the fact that the character was created on the go and without concepts, it turned out not as impressive as we would like. In the drwing, I tried to correct this oversight.

In a bunch of experiments with a tradition art. Meet Enola, the future character of our comic "Blood Ties" (if I ever draw him at all...). I drew it from the fourth time, because in me there is always a conflict between the craving for academism/realism and stylization like in manga.
