…really. huh.
I’m still trying to wrap my brain around ‘Kenya’.
In one ear and out the other I suppose.

when I hit the bottom || Dave & Landon
Dave had always had a few nervous habits, twitches that he never really thought much of. Lately though, there were things that had adapted since he’d learned so many new things about himself. Thing such as rowing and retracting his claws when he was bored, chattering his teeth together and comparing the noises between his human teeth and his were teeth. He’d gotten good at controlling his shifts, and not only that, at controlling what he changed and separating each aspect front he rest. It was a near little trick to be able to grow his teeth, or change his eyes from hazel to glowing yellow without much thought.
Ever since Dave was eleven, he’d dealt with death. It was a thing he’d always have to deal with as long as he was alive and shifting forcefully ever month. Even if he could keep up this ‘vegetarian’ thing as long as possible, he have to kill animals. It was almost harder sometime to hunt the wildlife. When he didn’t think it was an option. When the dull act of hunger got to be too much for him, Dave still was picky about the humans he hunted.
It was so hard to really comfort himself with the thoughts of picking and choosing his victims when he had the new arrivals in lima to remind him of the monster he was without even knowing it. The thought that he had taken the life from a helpless man in the wood who was homeless and dieting didn’t feel as harmless as it used to. The fact that the last human he’d ripped the heart out of had been a guy who’d gotten too aggressive with a bar patron when Dave was somewhere in Nebraska. Now, he was reminded of how much different he was that everyone else, not that he didn’t know what he was or how wrong it was. Now though, he went back to those thoughts about what would happen when he would be caught. Would he be able to have a real relationship again? Or would he be killed quickly before he can even drink with a real ID? And then, how would it happen? Would he be in wolf form when someone ran him through with silver? Maybe his head would be sliced off like a vampire.
It was these thoughts that filtered through his head, about death and life and all of those things in-between while his claws extracted from his fingers and punctured through the skin on him palms before letting them retract and his skin heal again. It was the middle of the day in the middle of a park while Boomer was running around getting his much needed exercise. Every so often the husky would come over and bark for a bit of attention, but otherwise the pair were content with their own forms of musing in the public area.
To say Landon's time in Lima had been frustrating so far well, he would consider that to be a bit of a understatement. The werewolf hadn't made much progress as far as figuring this town out, investigating the supernatural happenings that had been going on in the area, and much of it is because of this Initiative that had been put into place. Stricter rules and harsher guidelines didn't give Landon much room to do what he wanted to do, which included his late night runs and scoping out the residents in their natural forms. Well, some of them anyway.
With the Full Moon past him, and with his mind a bit more clear then it had been all week, Landon started to think of a time when none of this mattered. When he was a teenager in Wyoming, with his parents, his sibling... happy, content, tranquil. A time when his birthday was something that he often looked forward too, instead of positively dreading because it meant that it was Either a Full Moon or close to one. When he didn't consider himself a freak, when he had some place to call home, when he wasn't lost.
No, he had to focus now. This was the time and point of his being here that Landon needed to act. How, he wasn't sure, who would help him... well that was still a complication he had to work out as well, but there had to be some sort of silver lining in the book for him.... somewhere. Picking his head up, Landon didn't even realize that he had walked straight into the park until he hear the bark of a dog, standing over by a person on a park bench. Squinting a bit to see the guy fully, he recognized him instantly as Dave... the kid who went grocery shopping with him a few weeks ago. Huh. Small world. There was something about him that seemed so familiar to Landon, like a connection, but he wasn't sure what was holding the thread together. Knowing this town it honestly could be anything. Walking over towards the boy and the now running dog, Landon nodded towards Dave as he stopped next to him, offering his best smile as he cleared his throat.
"Hey, Dave was it? Nice dog,m beautiful breed. How are you?" Landon wasn't sure what he wanted to accomplish with the small talk, but he hoped something would come out of it as he crossed his arms over his chest and waited for the boy to answer.

Well tonight
I know it was a demon for sure. I know what a demon attack looks like, mutilation, sulfur…. She isn’t doing so well, I mean, would you expect her to?
They actually let you into the crime scene? that seems odd, even if it was a monster attack I would assume they would wait until they would just let a hunter in there but... she just lost a part of her family. I imagine she's a wreck.
Well tonight
… Demon killed my friend’s dad. So yeah, you could say something is wrong.
They know it was a demon for sure? Is your friend... how is she?
Well tonight
Yeah, you could say that again.
...care to elaborate?
Well tonight
Is just fun….
Something the matter?
I do not like this curfew.
Ah bon. It has a very homey feel, I agree.
I feel crazy saying that.
A dragon...
Oh, Landon, don’t say that. That could get you in trouble…
He’s… he’s fine, just… a little guilty. I-…I don’t know if I should say ‘cause the last person I told got really mad, and I don’t… I don’t want you to be mad. No, it’s not cowardly! It was a good idea, definitely. It seemed like the whole town was-… ugh, gosh, it was just bad.
...hmm?
Well let's just both agree that these last week was not very enjoyable whatsoever and let's hope that this next week is better. Does that sound good?
A dragon...
They’re just afraid of things they don’t understand. But the way they’re dealing with their fear is… I mean, branding? And shooting people on sight? That’s… it’s horrifying, and they think it’s justified. It’s so scary. And sad.
O-oh. Um, my… my papa had a really tough time with the sickness, and, um… things got really, really bad. But it’s better now! Oh, I see. That was smart! It was so scary around here this weekend, oh my gosh. I wish I had hidden somewhere for a few days…
They want to control things they do not understand. This is all going to turn against them horridly in the end, I just hope I see the day of their destruction.
Did he, is he alright? Really bad... what happened? It may seem cowardly but, I just though it safer to just rid myself of the outside world for a bit.
A dragon...
It’s certainly something. Although I don’t understand why everyone is freaking out so much over it. Just, leave the man alone.
Hello, Friday. How have you been?
Well… they… they do that. Freak out. A lot. Over everything. It’s… not good.
The last few days have been a bit crazy, but I’m okay now! How are you? It feels like I haven’t talked to you in a long time!
That's because these people are cowards who would rather out a person rather than solve their own personal vices. That is just how I see it, though.
What happened, if you don't mind me asking? I know, I've - once this 'sickness' escalated I decided it would be best if I lay low. Everything seems alright now though, so I'll let myself out hiding for a bit.
