“It is not.” Idella retorted, her voice coming out in a hoarse whisper. Despite her efforts, she couldn’t stop herself from thinking about the previous night. She recalled them both being in a slightly similar position on the couch. They were kissing, before his lips found other parts of her body. The memory made her flush as heat crept up throughout her body. Her gaze shifted to his mouth, her tongue peeking out to wet her suddenly parched lips. “You can let go of me now.” She managed to croak out the meek demand.
There it was again, the rosy tinge he’d seen on her cheeks the night before. It was enough to make any man’s resolve weaker. His thumb rubbed against her spine. When her attention shifted to his lips, he took the moment to study her. The guardian’s dramatic cheek bones and long lashes did nothing to stop the urge that was slowly growing in him. Her words held the same demand but her tone wavered. “Do you want me to?” He asked, his voice a mere whisper, as he continued gently rubbing circles on her back with his thumb.
