âI may have gone crazy with the scissors. How bad does it look?â
âDonât worry. I donât know much about fashion or anything, but if you looked ridiculous, then trust me, Iâd tell you.â
jasoncully:
âWatch where youâre shooting, asshole!â
Roman set the bow to the side and rushed over. âI didnât realize that there were other people here. Iâm trying to learn archery as a little side project, but I still have some wild shots. Nice reflexes, though.â
healingmarcus:
âBoudineâ he mused
Roman mumbled a Russian curse under his breath. He was going to lose, and he hated losing. âLucky shot,â he said, taking his own place at the dartboard for his turn.
samsoncastilla:
âMaybe if you stopped whining all the time, weâd actually get something done.â He joked with a lifted brow.
âWhining is my specialty,â Roman replied, unapologetic, âso maybe you should get used to it and start working harder.â
lanevanderbilt:
âI usually tune out petty yapping. Itâs become a fond habit of mine.â
Roman shrugged. âI can respect that. Usually I do the same.â
lanevanderbilt:
âI stopped listening to you two minutes ago. Is this important?â
âOnly if you consider my complaining to be important -- which you should, but I understand if you donât.â
xenaofamerica:
âIf youâre here to watch, be very quiet, otherwise please go away.âÂ
ââQuietâ is not usually a word in my vocabulary, but Iâll try my best.â Roman managed to stay out of the way or a few minutes before his boredom overtook him. âCan you teach me?â
Her breath was caught in her chest as she masked her anxiety the best way that she could. Would he notice the burn on his shoulder? Would he realize its meaning? Roman seemed not to notice anything different though, because he only replied to her with a joke. Anya cracked a smile as she snorted out a laugh without realizing it. âYou should. Iâm telling you, itâs a talent of a lifetime,â she joked right back.Â
How surprising. Not only he stood right in front of her and she could see him and talk to him, she was already joking with himâone of the things she thought sheâd lost forever. It was beyondâŠbizarre, seeing him like this; carefree. Sheâd seen him at his best, and at his worst as the Castillo curse had hit upon them. Itâd been a while since sheâd heard him rain on her with all of his jokes and teasing lines.  âYeah. Is it that obvious? Not that I ever doubted I look as badass as I am.â In reality, she was more of a novice and quite clumsy, but it was never too early for some bragging. Anything to keep him talking back to her. Anything to keep him smiling.
âIâll throw myself in front of the Dorcha tomorrow,â he added with a laugh. âI canât pass up such a great opportunity.â The words were lighthearted. He did have a tendency to complain about his job a lot, but at the end of the day, he enjoyed it, and he was good at it. He had even been asked to train his fellow guardians before. He was an example to follow, and despite all his jokes, he wouldnât do anything to purposefully ruin that status.
The girlâs confidence amused him. She couldnât have been older than her early twenties, so she was likely a beginner. He could have beaten her in a fight, maybe not easily, but his skill was almost definitely beyond hers. âHonestly, I think I made a lucky guess,â he teased. He looked at her again with renewed interest. âHow old are you, anyway? You look like youâre barely old enough to be finished with school.â

âI donât need to loosen up.â Idella retorted, her gaze cutting. âIâm just fine, thank you very muchâŠâÂ
âThatâs what you think,â he said with a shrug. âMe, I think you need to have fun. Câmon, one drink. Just one.â
guardiantariq:
Tariq released a laugh. If only the other knew what he had to face on a daily basisâŠÂ âThe same thing. Iâm a Guardian for Princess Zafira. Sheâs a real brat, and mouthy too.â He shook his head. âIâm glad I bumped into you. I didnât even know how much I needed this drink until now.âÂ
âThat must be really fun,â he said sarcastically. âGotta love spoiled royals. I get that we need to protect them and all, but they donât all make it so easy to.â Roman raised his glass. âĐа Đ·ĐŽĐŸŃĐŸĐČŃĐ”. To taking a break.â
anya-castillo:
Anya didnât hear more than a word that came out of the manâs mouth. He was standing behind her, and yet⊠That voice⊠Sheâd recognize it anywhere in the world.Â
Roman.Â
How many nights did she spend praying that heâd never get to the castle, and how many that sheâd see him again as soon as possible? The rational part of hers knew that it was crucial that they never crossed paths again. But the other one, the one that her heart led⊠Anya couldnât catch her own breath. She wished she could just keep her back on him and never turn around. Knowing him, thatâd only cause him to get suspicious. After all, he didnât know her. Or, at least, he didnât remember he once did.Â
Taking a deep breath in an attempt to calm her pulse that beat crazily in her chest, the brunette sniffed once and blinked to try and remove her already watery eyes. She plastered a smile on her face, and turned to face him as she said âWell, I donât know what youâre doing here, but maybe you should give the whole advertising thing a shot. That was really good.â Naturally, she felt the burn on the back of her nape, and she knew that it was because her soulmate tattoo was blazing with light. Unlike most people in the castle, sheâd known he was her soulmate way, way back. When all the Dorcha madness first started.
Roman had always been observant, and he didnât miss the fleeting look on the girlâs face as she turned around. She looked... Sad, almost. She hadnât even spoken to him yet, though, so there was no reason for anything he said to upset her. He was used to offending people - he didnât mince words and he rarely tiptoed around a subject to avoid hurting someoneâs feelings. Still, having recently arrived at the castle, he was trying to play nice.
Before he had time to really question it, the look on her face was gone, and she was speaking to him. The first thing he noticed, as sentimental as it was, was how beautiful she was. Even in a casual setting, with no one to impress, she stood out. He could imagine her walking into a room, all dressed up. All eyes in the room would be on her. He snapped himself out of that fantasy, returning to address her once again.
âSadly, as a guardian, Iâm stuck here. That could be my backup plan if I break both my arms or something, though,â he offered with a lopsided grin. âAre you a guardian, too?â he asked. He wasnât sure why, but he had a gut feeling that his guess was correct.
frannymariareyes:
Franny wordlessly stepped aside, a sinking feeling in her chest. Sheâd never let a man do her work for her, but desperate times called for desperate measures. And desperate times dictate that her stomach needed something before it caved in completely. She reached for her pocket and handed the stranger her lighter.
Roman took the lighter and tried to light the stove himself. Nothing happened for a few seconds. âI think it might just be brok--â He didnât get to finish his sentence before the gas stove suddenly lit, the flames momentarily flashing much brighter than they should have. He cursed and jumped back as the fire stopped centimeters from his face. After a second, the fire calmed down and the stove appeared to be working normally. âWell. There you go.â
âââSo, whatâd you guys do around here for fun? I need to know before I shoot myself in the eyeball.â
Roman thought for a second. âWhatever you do for fun normally, I guess. I mean, no skydiving or anything too crazy, but thereâs television, wifi... Usually you can find other guardians in the gym if you feel like punching something. Thereâs a pool, too.â He paused, breaking into a smile. âI sound like an advertisement. Still, I donât really know. I havenât been here for a long time.â
guardianidella:
âI canât be sure. Who knows with youâŠâ Idella stated with a roll of her eyes, âFine, Iâll join you.â She moved to sit next to the male.Â
âThatâs me, the man of mystery,â Roman said with a smirk. âWe need to get some alcohol in you so youâll loosen up a bit.â
guardiantariq:
âMy sentiments exactlyâŠâ Tariq smiled, nodding in agreement with the other man. ââWhat are you here for?âÂ
Roman shrugged. âLike I said, I had a long day. Iâm a guardian. I think having all these royals in one place somehow makes things more stressful - itâs like, thereâs not just an obligation to the family you work for, but you have to always have your guard up. Thankfully, now, I have the chance to relax,â he said with a content sigh. âWhat about you?â
frannymariareyes:
His tone irked her. âI know how to work a damn stove,â she replied, crossing her arms. Not knowing your way around the house wouldâve warranted a smack on the head from her mother. âThis oneâs just broken.â
âLet me take a look at it,â he said, skeptical that the stove was really broken. He felt a tiny bit of remorse for assuming the worst of the girl, but there were plenty of royals who had barely lifted a finger, and they annoyed him. He approached the stove, inspecting it. âI donât suppose you have a match or a lighter or something?â
