Clashes between independence supporters and French forces in New Caledonia continues. French President Emmanuel Macron flew to New Caledonia on Tuesday night to "set up a mission" on the riot-hit island. Macron's reform plans have been rejected by indigenous Kanaks.

There are rising doubts about the role of armed settlers in the deaths and lootings. One of the two dead polic officers may have shot himself accidentally in the barracks, why he's counted in the death tally is dubious. The "mission" is to quash the resistance. His "reform plans" are sabotaging a strenuous nation-building in the last remaining settler colony of France by making one-sided decisions about their voting laws in complete disregard of the history of those laws and indeed the whole country. He only briefly spoke to pro-independence leaders and spent the majority of his 18 hours onsite congratulating cops and making promises to settler groups that they will be safe. No settler was killed. No settler was harmed at all, as far as we know.

Okay I complained about this but. you know what. I see so many "Western-style" restaurants here that basically serve a combination of spaghetti, pizza, burgers and steak, all of which are heavily modified to cater to local tastes. I recently went to a "European-style" cafe and ordered vanilla toast assuming it would be French toast or something and it was literally dry white toast with a small scoop of vanilla ice cream on it and I'm like seriously??? What European would disrespect bread enough to do this 😭

If you make fanwork and want to help Palestine you can sign-up for our fundraiser for Palestine Children Relief Fund. We don't have a lot of fanartists yet so if you are interested in signing up, don't hesitate!

We have had some people wondering if this legit, which is very understandable considering the fact that some people are pretending to raise money for Palestine and to scam people.

So here is some additional info about the fundraiser:

1. No money is going directly to us.

Donations will be made on the Just Giving platform which gives the money directly to the PCRF charity. Doing it like this just makes it easier to keep track of how much was donated. And to be transparent with the money. From the research made, Just Giving is a legitimate platform.

2. The Palestine Children's Relief Fund is a legit charity.

It's a registered organisation and from the research we made (and other people did) we trust this charity.

3. Commissions will be made by the artists only after the donation has been made.

To make sure donations will actually be made, we ask bidders to give us proof of payment before the commission is done (bidders the sign-up form, and if the artist accepts the commission then we will ask them to make the donation. Once the donation is made, we put them in contact with the artist.)

Welcome! This is a pan-fandom project to raise as much as possible for Palestine. The project is simple: fans bid on fanartists and fanwriters work and the money will be given to charities for Palestine.

The charity chosen for the fundraiser is The Palestine Children's Relief Fund. From the PCRF website: "Palestine Children's Relief Fund (PCRF), founded in 1991 by concerned humanitarians in the USA, provides free medical care to thousands of injured and ill children yearly who lack local access to care within the local health care system."

Our goal at Fandoms for Palestine is to donate as much money to the PCRF charity to help the Palestinian population and the Palestinian children.

The application for artists will open on the 28/04/2024. Artists will propose to make fanworks for fandoms. Fanworks propose can be fanart, fanvideos, gifs, fanart, and other types of fanwork that don't require shipping (we cannot ship anything unfortunately).

The application for bidders will open on the 13/05/2024. Bidders donate to the PCRF charity in return for fanwork (the donation is done after a fanartist agrees to make fanwork for you).
