In light of recent events, I want anyone who supports crossing the boundary between disliking something and outright targeting other fans for it in a hostile way, whether it’s online or offline, over simply enjoying a fictional character or dressing up as them, to unfollow me. This includes if you agree with or otherwise encourage people like @destroy-trash-boys
You’re not just harming other people, you’re also a big hypocrite for doing so under the guise of righteousness, claiming you “care about victims.” I’d tell you to stop interacting with fandom because you clearly aren’t enough of a well-adjusted adult to deal with it, but I know that’s not going to work. If you had a shred of decency and self-awareness, your lot wouldn’t be bullying people the way you do. You’d leave innocent fans of a cartoon character alone, and stop dragging in victims of real horrific tragedies while you’re at it. You’re making the rest of us who do care about these things look so, so bad.
The next time someone gets hurt, think about how it’s partially rooted and supported by your mentality, a behavior you also co-sign when you don’t call out those in your group and instead encourage this cruel, toxic shit.
