Packing Party

It is Tuesday May 3rd 2016 and I am graduating this Saturday :P Yayyy ! Immediately following, I will be taking one more class through my department (Africana Studies) for the Maymester. I will be travelling to South Africa to study Race, gender and class. Im super excited and will be posting many more blogs about this amazing experience but right now I am packing my bags because I grind so much I must use the spare time that I have wisely. SO , I invited myself to this packing party and self said YAASSSS so here I am playing Ebo Taylor Radio on Pandora packing my bags to go off into the world . Gonna play some Miriam Makeba & a lil Wiz Kid too!

Empowering Sistas.

Innerstand your power and take back your crowns. Women are so extremely powerful and yet so often oppressed and placed in subordination. The truth is the power is in our wombs. A healthy Yoni is a magik Yoni. So many of us have been conditioned by generations of male dominance that submission seems natural. In fact if I mention God most people automatically think of the Most High as a He, Our Heavenly Father. Nonetheless, now that we are coming into the age of Aquarius and a shift in consciousness people are inately tuning back in to the natural order of the Universe. We must once again honor the divine feminine, Our Mother Goddess so that balance and harmony may be restored. We as Queens must embrace assertive speaking so that men are not talking to us or about us in a disrespectful manner. We must embrace our right to agency and authority, not to rule over or oppress others but for our voices to be heard and our words to be taken seriously. We must know our worth, heritage, and legacy so that we accept only honorable treatment and only give access to our bodies to deserving Kings. We must love and respect our brothers and not condone mysogynistic behavior towards any of our sistars. Empowerment starts with self. Know thy self and know that it is US who shapes the future; what we take in to our body temples, psyches, spirits affects our children -- what we put in to the bodies and psyches and spirits of the children affects the nation. Heal the women. Heal the world.

Technically rape.

Women around the world are raising awareness on the high statics of rape and educating people on what consent is. Consent is a very important thing that ALL men and women should overstand and value. My concern is that more often than not in patriarchal societies men are not listening to women. Many times youll find in these societies that even women do not give other women serious consideration. As women (just like African descendents) we can sometimes oppress ourselves/ each other through the dominant group’s tools. It is important that men educate themselves and teach each other about consent. Men need fathers, mentors, brothers, uncles etc to talk about this subject in a serious manner. If a woman is unconscious thats a NO. If a woman is underaged thats a NO. If a woman says NO thats a NO. If a woman said yes previously but says NO now its a NO. Just because you got access once doesnt make you a co-owner of a woman’s body. Do not pressure, tempt or tease us. We are highly sexual creatures who are constantly shamed for expressing our sexuality and simultaneosly praised to give the rights of our bodies away. EVERYONE has the right to decide when where why who and how they choose to use their sexual and sensual energies. Sex is sacred but unfortunately we live in a culture that jokes and sings about situations in which women are taken advantage of. It is so common to be taken advantage of sexually that its disgusting. Ive been a victim more than once - the stats are high. If you wouldn’t want your mother sister aunt neice or daughter to be taken advantage of sexually then yes you need to be conscious of your conduct and educate the men in your life as well.

5 of Clubs

Love cards are an interesting concept recently introduced in my life. Whist it showed me nothing new that I didn’t already know about myself, learning about my birth card allowed me to further examine self. SUPPOSEDLY I have one of the most unmarriageable cards in the deck. This is no surprise to me or anyone who really knows me cause I date guys and gyals like going somewhere for the first time. I fall in love quickly, put a lot of energy in, get frustrated, learn my purpose for being there then move on to the next destination. After 3 months, I have decided to break things off with my King. Ive never been with a person for 4 consecutive months since 11th grade. I think my bf and i broke up in month 5 (but now that I think about it we definitely took a break somewhere in there). ANYWHo, I still love and deeply appreciate this brotha but it is very challenging to build with someone who cant provide for you. Many of my love ones have stated that I deserve better in that aspect, nonetheless never before have I been so spiritually and mentally stimulated by someone... He was one of the only to be able to handle my fire... communication can be a challenge but the sex is more than amazing its empowering. Ive been with a man who had financial stability and intellect but didnt match me spiritually nor sexually. Ive been with a man who was my dream as far as physical, sexual, and cosmic attraction but was not health conscious or financially stable. Ive been with a woman who was mentally and emotionally stimulating but theres always the missing category. I desire to be physically and cosmically attracted to someone with a similar spiritual system/practice as I, balanced emotions, well cultured and intellectually engaging, talented, ambitious, creative, and resourceful, sexually capable & compatible, respectful, health conscious & confident - all the things that I radiate I seek to reflect in someone. This King was a close call but for me to progress I must have financial security , something I am gaining for self so that it may reflect in my partner but is it too much to ask that he has more so that I may be treated as the Queen I am?

DMT

Yesterday was so majikal. I got an awesome job that I just interviewed for that morning and was informed of the night before. Then I went to Chris Pop & Lucy Ali’s music video for “Black Oil”. Afterwards, my nu friend Captain Bravo rolled up a blunt with DMT for my posse of gypsies and genies. It was a rush to my first eye. I felt as fluid as water and as light as air. I saw vibrational frequencies and utilized the boost of pineal power to craft the future. I then danced to the harmony of the Universe and charged up to its rhythmic vibes. The height left my body quickly but I was still and still am in the zone. I give thanks and praises to the Most High that I can tap in to the power of the All.
