Here are some quick sketches of the later JoJo villains that I did a few days ago. In my opinion, Funny Valentine is the best overall of the villains in terms of motivations, writing, etc. Diavolo has the coolest design, and Pucci wins the the most-unfulfilled-potential award
I felt like I got Diavolo’s face down pretty well. Pucci and Valentine...not so much. As much as I love JoJo, I rarely ever draw things from it. Time to fix that.
What if my definition of “fresh” is less hipster and more Araki, Splatoon? I was practicing drawing inklings, and the male inkling’s tentacles functioning as hair reminded me of a certain someone’s hair functioning as a hat(?).
Inside Out? More like...uh, it was a good movie...
Inside Out was way better than I expected. My favorite part was how the little dust-like particles around Joy really made her look small, like an actual tiny person living inside your head. An overall solid movie that demonstrates the writers’ emotional wisdom.
More figure-drawing fun. Sometimes I wish these models would do JoJo poses.
I painted this on a canvas board, and then touched it up in Photoshop. This was my first time really using Photoshop, and I’m pretty satisfied with the results. Spooky space stuff is great.
I’ve gotten into figure drawing lately. Figure drawing is super rad. I did these with charcoal on newsprint, and if I remember correctly, they were 10 to 20-minute poses.
Stardust Crusaders is...over
...and I can’t help but feel a little let down. The animation quality wasn’t what I expected for the final battle until today, the final episode. None of the past openings: Sono chi no sadame, Stand Proud, End of the World, etc., played as Jotaro finished off DIO, and there was no teaser for part 4 (in the Crunchyroll broadcast, that is. I’ve been hearing rumors that the TV broadcast in Japan had something). Despite these complaints, I still enjoyed episode 48. The road-roller scene was done exceptionally well.
Can’t wait for the future of animated JJBA!
Hey, hey, it’s me, back again. I haven’t used my Tumblr in awhile, but now I plan to start posting stuff regularly! Here’s a fun sketch I made way back during the Super Bowl this year.
Sketch of the Day - It's everybody's favorite super vampire, Kars! Honestly, the main reason why I love Kars so much is that his name is so stupid. What's the name of this ancient, immortal being? CARS.
Please ignore the anatomical incorrectness. It was a referenceless sketch!
Sketch of the Day - It's Jean Pierre Polnareff, main character and protagonist of The Polnareff Show: Stardust Crusaders! Seriously, though, it feels like Polnareff is getting more attention than both JoJos so far.
Sketch of the Day - The incarnation of Link from The Legend of Zelda and The Adventure of Link, the one that finally ended Ganon! He wields the Magical Sword instead of the Master Sword or the Four Sword.
Sketch of the Day - My favorite incarnation of Link has got to be Link from The Legend of Zelda and The Adventure of Link. He's not even from Hyrule! I could go on and on about how much I love the Fallen Timeline, but I love the concept of Link journeying to find the physical Triforce of Courage in order to awaken the true Zelda all the while fighting monsters that are out to kill him so that they can use his blood to resurrect Ganon via a demonic ritual...
The Magic Sword is cool too because it's something different than the Master Sword, and the super ornate version on the cover of Zelda II is rad. Soul Calibur II is the only game that it's been in since Zelda II, actually.
Sketch of the Day - WHO!?
I love how Mega Man looks like just a straight-up robot in Smash 4. To me, that's way more appealing than the long-limbed, anime boy classic Mega Man that arguably first appeared in Mega Man 7, but definitely was around for Mega Man 8 and other games like Marvel vs. Capcom 2.
Mario reflects my sentiments. Smash has got me so hyped.
Sketch of the Day - Shield Knight is a cool lady, and I hope a Shovel Knight 2 gets made so that I can play as her.
Sketch of the Day - Shovel Knight is a really good game, and Shovel Knight is a really good guy. I like to imagine that he'd use his weapon like a broadsword combined with an axe.
Sketch of the Day - Behold: Ganondorf Dragmire, king of the Gerudo. Unlike Link and Zelda, who are constantly reincarnated over and over across the Zelda timeline, there's pretty much only one Ganondorf; if memory serves me, he's only been reborn once throughout history, even across all three alternate timelines. His refusal to die is attributed to the fact that he is "an incarnation" of the Demon King Demise's "hatred" that is destined to "ever follow" Link and Zelda's "kind".
