Vivi Ornitier In the last couple of weeks since the start of self-isolation due to the pandemic, I've been playing and watching final fantasy related games non-stop. I finished Dissidia Duodecim Final Fantasy, played til the start of Disc 2 in Final Fantasy 7, started playing Final Fantasy 4 in ds as well as Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, and started to dive in Final Fantasy 6. Why Vivi? It's the favorite character of my best friend and as of posting this, yesterday was his birthday. Also, I wanna play Final Fantasy 9 again and try to get Excalibur 2. Joker My Review: This movie was really different, realistic and grittier than your average CGI, action filled comic book film. It's movie that realistically portrays a cruel society, a tragic and progressive spiral into madness, and overall mental illness. I have never felt more related and connected to the Joker before. Joaquin Phoenix's portrayal was mesmerizing. Every scene he's in has subtle and nuance changes that when you enter the last 20 minutes of the film, everything explodes right in front of you. Now, do take in heart that this is a film. Not a reason to kill, murder or an excuse to be crazy. This is a film with a message to society and that message is scary. I've never seen such a realistic depiction of mental illness that even now, seeing what Arthur (Joker) does in most scenes are things I have done myself. The violence that it displays aren't disturbing because of the gore but it's disturbing because of how realistic the depiction was. If Joaquin Phoenix doesn't win an Oscar for this film then I'm saying that the Oscar isn't needed in society. This is by far, for me, the best film this year. It's the best film I have ever seen. Not a flawless film but it's an amazing, realistic and mesmerizing film. The Cast and Crew were amazing in making such an amazing film. Todd Phillips was an amazing director, the score was mesmerizing and ironic in the midst of chaos, the cinematography were splendid and lastly, Joaquin Phoenix was such an amazing actor with a mesmerizing and realistic performance of a man going through the process of madness. I rate the film 9.7/10 Give it a watch but please do take it to heart that it's fiction.
