Y/n is collecting a random assortment of rocks. Then, suddenly hornet jumpscare AAAAAAAAA
It was a wonderfully inconspicuous day as you were engaging in your favorite activity while in greenpath: picking up rocks.
You were all by yourself, aside from the occasional moss goobers and whatnot.
Until you weren't.
When you heard some rustling behind you, you figured it was coming from just another irrelevant little creature you'd have to dunk on.
But when you turned around and saw hornet, you were immediately shocked and dropped all of your rocks.
“AHH!!”
“Y/n calm down it's just me” hornet said, surprised she scared you so bad
“Haha!! Sorry, I was busy collecting my rocks!! So immersed in the experience that I didn't even hear your arrival!” You said, anxious. You weren't prepared to run into her, how are you supposed to react??
“That is a rather dangerous habit. If you don't pay attention to your surroundings you WILL be brutally murdered within the span of 6.7 seconds."
“Lol yeah oopsie!” You blurted out.
“You do not seem too worried about your high chances of.. literally dying.”
“That's cuz I..” ..crap. you don't have any excuses in mind.
“Y/n. You are behaving unusually. Is my presence making you feel uncomfortable? Would you like me to leave?”
“NO!!” You said, not wanting her to leave, despite also not wanting the scariness of having to talk to your crush by surprise. “I'm fine I swear”
Hornet could tell you were genuine when you asked her not to leave. “You do not act fine. Why are you so anxious?”
“Because. I. Found a really cool rock. And then I. Lost it! And I don't know if I'll ever get it back that's why I'm anxious”
“..why are these rocks so important to you? None of them are particularly special looking.”
Gasp! Did she just insult your rock collection?!
“Hey!” You exclaimed. “All rocks are special, even if they look boring! That's why I collect all the normal looking ones, so they know they're special and don't feel left out!!”
“Then why would you be anxious about losing one that looked cool if you prefer the plain ones?” Hornet asked, not even bothering to question why you treat rocks as if they have feelings.
“A-” Well if you weren't out of responses before, you sure are now!
“Y/n.”
“Yes?”
“You're hiding something.”
Uh oh.
“N-not necessarily! The rock I lost was important! Very important! I mean it wasn't as important as y-” you froze and covered your mouth when you realized you were about to slip up.
Silence.
“As what?”
“NOTHING!! Nothing more important than my rocks, hahahaha!! I, I don't love anything or anyone more!!” EXTREMELY LOUD INCORRECT BUZZER 🚨🚨🚨
“Please don't lie to me.” Hornet said. “What are you hiding?”
Aw man now you feel bad lying to her
But you can't just.. confess! That's too scary!
“I assure you it's nothing bad.” You said as a last resort.
“You're not answering the question.”

You took a deep breath, scared and flustered.
“Fine..”
Hornet listened intently.
“I, um.. I'm not anxious about any rocks. I'm. Im anxious because,... I..,,,, uhhhhh..”
“..go on”
You covered your face and took a few steps back.
“I-i may or may not have a crush on you!!”
Hornet was taken completely by surprise and looked at you with a look of Flabbergasted.

“...i am simply surprised. I was not expecting you to have those feelings as well.”
“Oh cool so you're not gonna kill m- wait wait WHAT DO YOU MEAN ‘AS WELL’??????”
“I… mean exactly what you seem to think I mean.”

“Hold on-” you said then quickly crouched down to search through the rocks you had dropped earlier, and picked one up that's shaped like a heart.
“Here, this is for you.” You said and gave her the rock
“Thank you.” She accepted the gift. “I will be sure to cherish it.”
Then yuo hugged her
She gently but protectively hugged you back.
“I love you hornet”
“I love you too y/n”
Then you asked her a question
“so do we like go on a date now or what”
“Bro we can't, we're in a deadly and abandoned kingdom. There is nowhere to go on a date”
“Oh ok” you replied
then you both got run over by massive moss charger and turned into pancakes but at least you're both happy pancakes
