Alarm Bells After General Conference
I thankfully didn’t listen to much of general conference, but I had heard from my family that the prophet had to stay home due to his life declining.
I certainly hope that he has a wonderful last few months or years of his life, for no one deserves to have a miserable ending.
So since I was extremely curious, I went to see who would be the next prophet. There is a big chance for Nelson to be the next prophet, but then I saw that Oaks has a good shot as well.
To illustrate my concern, here’s some wonderful quotes from him!
(On how to deal with gay family members) “I can also imagine some circumstances in which it might be possible to say yes, come, but don’t expect to stay overnight. Don’t expect to be a lengthy house guest. Don’t expect us to take you out and introduce you to our friends, or to deal with you in a public situation that would imply our approval of your ‘partnership’”
“One generation of homosexual “marriages” would depopulate a nation, and, if sufficiently widespread, would extinguish its people. Our marriage laws should not abet national suicide.”
“It would also be desirable to allow employers to exclude homosexuals from influential positions in the media, literature, and entertainment, since those jobs influence the tone and ideals of society.”
The prophet is supposed to be someone who is all loving and kind and will do everything to help their followers.
After saying that mormons should be ashamed of their gay family members and disown them, the crazy notion that gay people could wipe out humanity that is definitely not true, and wanting gay people to be suppressed, are these really message of love, or are they of hate?
Many of his general conference talks have “same-sex marriage” in there somewhere. He is obsessed with “same-sex marriage” and how evil it is. If he was to be the prophet, I know that he would hurt so many people.
To mormons who are questioning or not, but most especially LGBT mormons. Please. I beg of you. Let one of us talk to you. Heck, message me! (and the same invitation to exmormons).
I am not here to destroy you or be the tool of the devil. I am not asking for you to talk to me or anyone else because my goal is to destroy you.
I want to talk to you because I am so scared for you.
I don’t want you to be in pain. I don’t want you to be ashamed of who you are. I don’t want you to believe that you are a monster that deserves to be thrust in eternal pain.
To Oak’s eyes, especially from his talk recently, is that LGBT people are an enemy to God. A stain on the earth. He doesn’t love you. He hates you more than anything.
Please talk to us. We will truly open our arms and let you in and comfort you. All I want is to comfort and give joy into your lives.
It is ultimately your choice, but I sincerely hope that you at least try. Try to see the other side of what others see in the church instead of blindly following a church who fears and despises you as scum on this earth.
To anyone who needs to talk or is hurt please, talk to me. I’ll be happy to listen and to help the healing process begin.
And to all LGBT mormons and exmormons. You are beautiful, wonderful people, who deserve to feel loved and happy. Not to feel like a monster. You are amazing.
