Redrew my first art piece đâš
sorry im not done gatsbyposting. the nyc celebrations for its 100th anniversary are so uniquely deranged. like here you have a book that absolutely scathes new york parties & dress-up & entertainment & alcohol & careless wealthy east coast elites. and the way the city is celebrating the 100th anniversary of one of the most beautifully written & personally devastating literary tragedies this country has ever produced is by. offering 10% off gatsby-themed cocktails at luxury bars. hosting pay-to-attend 1920s themed costume balls in the wealthiest areas of midtown. setting up penthouse hotel suites to ostensibly resemble locations from the book. a few hours ago at an exclusive private event they had the cast of the glamorous broadway musical, all in designer clothes, light up the empire state building green to advertise their show where tickets cost up to $670. one of them said the green light ârepresents the beauty of the american dream.â i think you could power all manhattan with energy generated from the rotational torque of f scott fitzgerald spinning wildly in his grave
anyhow i celebrated this international holiday by leaving work early & dressing up & driving north five and a half miserable hours to see the empire state lit up green because this was a true once in a lifetime event & this book changed my life & i wanted to celebrate a character i loved and mourned & see a glittering green light shining on the water & reach for it like dreamers do. but even though all the websites and blogs i could find told me it would be green on the 11thâthat it would blaze green all night on the 11th, and i triple checked each oneâby the time i got there at 8:15 pm theyâd turned it off. and the parties had happened thursday night, not friday. so i ended up alone & exhausted & rain-drenched & freezing & quite frankly absolutely crying my eyes out on the shore across from the city, just fucking stupidly sobbing above the water, wishing i could go back just a little way into the past. and THATS how you do gatsby. ill kill you all
if you donât reblog this post im gonna explode
gender-affirming surgery is a months-long dark comedy. what the fuck do you mean you're charging me double for everything. what do you mean they itemize the bill by left and right ball. what the fuck.
they billed me for three?? three balls???
Accidentally clicking on an AI assistant feels like clicking on a link thatâs going to give you a virus.
this is so funny, average yankee behaviour
Some rich guy in a power suit carrying the cross with support wheels is a perfect metaphor for the entire cult that is the evangelical church
it's not really mentioned in the story but i feel like every hashira knows they're a dead man walking, like those npc slayers die all the time & while the hashira are obviously stronger and outlive their lower ranked comrades, i feel like they're ready to die in every battle & for their master too like this is nottt a job for people who are particularly interested in leading a long life
which makes the kochi sisters & shinazugawa brothers so tragic like kanae uses her least breath to tell her sister to leave the corps and to just live an ordinary live and to grow old and sanemi is so desperate to get his brother out of the corps that he's willing to emotionally and physically hurt him / push him away, sth sth siblings who want to be martyrs for each other
if youâre going to talk about the mass starvation of Palestinians (which thank you) and the long term epigenetic affects please donât forget about Sudan. the Sudani people are going through one of the worst starvations in history. more than 24 Million are facing acute hunger, with an estimated 500,000 children alone already dead from starvation. please be vocal about the horrors happening in Sudan right now. they will feel it for generations to come as well and it is just as heartbreaking and anger at the world inducing and important to speak on it especially in the context of the dangers of forced famine
I feel like some of you guys think "bad art" is like someone gluing rhinestones to a water melon, or a guy who made his own armchair out of Ohio license plates, or a trashy romance novel where someone says "the blue-eyed one kissed the brown-eyed one," when in reality bad art is a 1000000 Billion Dollar movie where none of the workers got paid and every single creative decision was market tested to see how lucrative of a profit it could foreseeably make to wow shareholders.
Insincere, passionless, money-hungry art is almost always bad art
National Public Data is back online. Protect your privacy from it now - and check if other people-search sites have your information.
Over a year ago, National Public Data (NPD), a search site for people, earned a place in privacy infamy for a security breach that revealed the personal data of 3 billion individuals (that's billion with a "b"). Now, after disappearing, NPD is back. As ZDNET sister publication PCMag reported, NPD is open for snooping again under a new owner, the rather mysterious-sounding Perfect Privacy LLC.
Oh boy. Better head over to nationalpublicdata.com and see if your profile is there. Then follow the handy instructions in the ZDNET article to have yourself removed:
How to remove your information from NPD
Search your name on nationalpublicdata.com.
When you find your profile, click "View Full Profile."
Copy its URL.
Go to nationalpublicdata.com/optout.html.
Drop the URL into the "Your Profile Link" field and click "Request Removal."
Enter an email address, and the site will send you an email requesting that you click to confirm deletion.Â
You'll need a separate email address for each profile you want to delete.Â
Are you listed at the National Public Database site?
I was, and it was accurate. I requested removal.
I was, but it was only somewhat accurate. I requested removal.
I was, but everything was wrong. I requested removal.
I am. I tried to remove myself but it didn't work.
I am. People can look me up, whatever
Never looked, don't plan to.
Reblogging again with poll because I am curious.
Literally my everything was listed there. đ±
oh hey, gross. I just requested all my shit deleted and it looks like it was successful. If you didnât know, now you know.
They really did have a shitload of my details. So I submitted the removal on a new email address. Nobody needs that information

I think we should do this but leave Colorado alone so thereâs just an extremely jarring rectangle in one part of this

[standing up boldly] I don't think pearl actually fumbled rose though
everyone makes the joke posts about how if they fumbled a bbw to a soundcloud rapper they would also start eating their own organs but i don't think pearl actually fumbled rose under any definition. pearl inspired some of the most positive changes in rose's life and rose spent thousands of years loving being with her while also fully convinced that she was undeserving of her. you have to place the whole thing with rose dating greg in context of the gem timescale. it's canon text that rose was occasionally dating earth men during the course of their time on earth, not as some sort of monogamous break-up situation where she would leave pearl each time, but where her gem relationship with pearl was one long ongoing thing, and humans were the cute little aliens she sort of objectified and treated as a novelty to occasionally date before she got bored of them/they died/whatever. rose presumably did not in any meaningful way drop pearl for greg, she just deprioritized spending time with her--which pearl was fine with at first, because she was fine with being deprioritized for novelties that might only last a few years while she'll last for thousands. pearl became upset and envious after she realized that rose actually cared about this one in a way more comparable to how she cares about pearl. but this didn't happen because she fumbled rose by any reasonable stretch of the term. this happened because even after reinventing herself once thanks to pearl's idea, rose still believed that she hadn't really changed, and hated herself, and saw herself as unworthy and undeserving of the people around her, and was very suicidal. she was so enamored with greg and with humans because she saw them of being capable of changing & growing in a way that she believed she was fundamentally incapable of. and so she decided to kill herself through the route that involved what she perceived as reinvention into someone beautifully capable of that growth. pearl just simply could not have done anything about rose still privately having those hang-ups or about the fact that they're both gems. I Do Not Believe It Was Pearl's Fumble When Her Wife Killed Herself
some of the worst classism is white collar middle class americans against blue collar & minimum wage workers. âwhy does that plumber make more than meâ because heâs been perfecting his craft for 30 years and you send emails. âtheyâre in the trades bc theyâre too dumb to do anything elseâ ok take that engine apart and put it back together real fast babe. âtheyâre boring bc they never left their home townâ have you considered they financially couldnât? I am not saying it is anyoneâs job to educate, nor you need to respect people who do not respect you, but while you maybe never sympathize we need to learn to empathize. consider why (who) allowed for massive parts of country to be uneducated and how many impoverished areas of this country havenât had a voice for a very long time. we are all victims of the rich. remember it is up vs down
it is important to remember that while we are all exploited under late stage capitalism, blue collar workers pay with their bodies. with their health that is exposed to dangerous unsafe conditions every day. on every video where a construction worker draws a heart in cement or does something âon company timeâ comments are FLOODED with people saying âhard at workâ âglad to see where our tax money goesâ while simultaneously liking/reposting someone saying they spend most of their day working from home watching tik tok.
why is your gut reaction to seeing a working class American is to assume theyâre stupid? that they donât contribute to society, when their hands built it?
