The Neighborhood is a CC-free save file that explores the concept of home. V1 celebrates the vibrant communities of the U.S. Gulf Coast. ❤️
This is what comes in V1:
13 community lots
22 total residences (includes 3 multi-family rental lots, 9 single family homes)
New High School & Auditorium in Copperdale (+8 school staff townies)
Secret lot (Sylvan Glade) reimagined
17 unique households with skills, jobs, relationships, and stories that tie into the town
New clubs and holidays

The wonderful Ly family in Willow Creek was lovingly created for the save by @cowplant-snacks. All other neighbors were made by me, you can meet all of them here! Pets are from Pugowned, misc. townies from @cowplant-snacks and @simsontherope on the gallery.
There's lots of little details and things to explore, both around the world and relationship wise, so I'm excited to see what y'all uncover. Please feel free to @theneighborhoodsave in your posts or tag #theneighborhoodsave. I'd love to see what your sims are up to!
I also want to say thank you to anyone who's appreciated this creative journey with me. This save feels like home to me and y'all have supported me every step of the way!

The save is 100% CC free! Please note that I do have all expansions, packs, and kits (except for Castle Estate, Goth Galore + Crystal Creations.) For any items you don't own the game will try to auto find replacements for those items. The file is mostly blank this time around but does include the original EA builds in university and vacation type worlds (sans Granite Falls.)
Included is a folder of completely optional skin details/eyelashes for the neighbor sims. Thank you to @faaeish, @pyxiidis, @tamo-sim, and @landgraabbed! There are 4 pieces of CC I cannot include in the folder due to creator TOU. Please check the included "Read Me" file for more information.
All builds and families are up on the gallery (@sweetbeagaming) + tray files have been shared here.
If you've never used a save file and need help installing it, I highly recommend this tutorial by @leeleebsimming.
⚠️ A couple of disclaimers here due to some existing EA bugs. EDIT 4/25: Included in that link are directions on how to avoid TOOL'd items from disappearing. If you want to keep powerlines and such please check this out! ⚠️
Everything was tested to work around these, but I wanted to put them out there as an FYI.
TOU: Please don't reupload my save/builds/sims, claim as your own, and absolutely do not paywall them. Other than that feel free to build your own Neighborhood stories however you'd like!
this save is BEAUTIFUL <3 def the best cc-free I've seen! - Well... I only look for cc-free so it's the ACTUAL best I've seen! Tysm for making this, became my go to!
This is one of the nicest messages I've gotten in a long time, thank you so much. I'm glad you're enjoying it!
Honestly I've felt pretty disillusioned with EA over the past year and have low motivation to return to this project, but it really makes my day when I see someone playing in The Neighborhood. To this day I am proud of what I made and I love my TS4 simmers to the ends of the earth. <3
Which house is named which in the sage beach community?
It's been so long since I built them I don't 100% remember, I cannot for the life of me find the post where I talked about the names, plus my game is sorely outdated so I can't open it- HOWEVER each beach house name is put as the unit name! Sorry I can't be of more help in the moment but I hope you can find them that way. :)
This was going to look like a Denny's but it looks like a Sheetz instead... I've never even been to Sheetz but the food looks so bomb there. If you've been to Sheetz comment your favorite thing there bc one day I will go.
Family owned since 1984, Sal's Rollerland & Arcade offers the best entertainment this side of Newcrest. It might be a little rough around the edges, but all venues of bygone's past tend to be. Bars and dancing for the parents, a roller rink for your rowdy teens and plenty of cabinets for the kiddos. Join us for adult night on Fridays after 10 PM for a discount on beer and skate!
We finally have an in-game disco ball! I won't lie, seeing the party kit single-handedly broke my hiatus to finish this lot. Already started another one... we'll see.
I opened up my save for the first time in months and learned that while the sims team fixed one thing (floating neighborhood objects in the sky), they broke another (objects in the neighborhood no longer disappear/able to be deleted ever.)
This has caused some duplicate items that were TOOL’d in, then deleted to appear in Courtyard Lane. Hopefully by the time I’m ready to release any updates that will be fixed, until then my apologies for weird items in world. 😭
Hi! I'm more active on my personal (@sweetbeagaming) these days, at least when time allows.
My medical condition has been keeping me from spending long amounts of time by screens/ability to look at small details unfortunately, so the save has taken a hit.
I think about continuing it a lot, but it's realistically difficult for me right now. Hoping for better days in 2025. <3
If I only have base game and a few stuff packs can I still play this save?
Yes, though keep in mind that some items will be missing if you're missing packs. I made a conscious effort to use base game + common packs whenever possible, but I def used all packs and some kits (those released up to Feb. of this year) at some point throughout the save. The game will try to replace any items you're missing!
sul sul I was checking the neighborhood save file and it has amazing surrounding neighborhood deco, how can I add it to my own save file? Thanks!
Sul sul! 👋🏻 If you have The Neighborhood save file, the items should populate normally! I used TOOL mod to place them, but TOOL isn’t needed for them to show up.
I haven’t played with the new patch but afaik nothing has changed that would cause them to disappear!
please could you share you're Sals Rollerland and Arcade bulid it looks superb. (:
Currently it's an incomplete lot that I started before my hiatus, so it's not in a shareable state. It will be with the save when I'm ready to continue V2. :)
Hi friends! I hope that y’all are doing well and everything is good in the neighborhood. ❤️🏡 I want to start by saying I am so thankful for y’all sharing your stories and feedback with me these past two months. All the videos and pictures of the save are an absolute pleasure to see. I still have a notebook filled with ideas, dreams and thoughts for the remaining worlds and I can’t wait to share that with y’all!
At the moment I’m going through some highly uncertain medical issues. I need to reduce stress and generally might not have much time for “serious” gameplay for awhile. Due to this I am going to take an indefinite hiatus from the project. I’ll do my best to get back to asks/tags as I can, and will probably be doing comforting TS2 and Stardew gameplay on my personal in the meantime.
I can promise y’all that The Neighborhood is very near and dear to my heart. I know a lot of people are looking forward to V2 and I won’t give up on it easily! ❤️
I don't know if this has been asked before but what reshade and presets do you use? Your screenshots are beautiful!
Thank you! Def full credit for part of the beauty to @windslar. @gunthermunch, and @folkbreeze for their gorgeous reshades!
For aerial neighborhood and some indoor shots I use Raices, for close ups and detail shots I use Tawhay, and for live gameplay/CAS shots I use Lithium.
I also use some MartyMcFly shaders that were not included the original presets, so I've tweaked them a bit to my needs.
Starlight Drive-In is not currently up for download, but it will be whenever V2 is released! I don't currently have a projected date for that yet, but I'll keep everyone updated along the way. :)
I'd love for you to build as many cities as possible, that's great. Do you have any plans for full preservation?
I have select worlds planned, but I will likely not do every world. In addition to the worlds in V1, I have Copperdale, Newcrest and Granite Falls in the works. San Sequoia and San Myshuno are also possibilities for The Neighborhood (maybe.) I try to take it one step at a time because we're talking about 40+ lots between everything! Anyway I have a different save working up in my head for desert type worlds so eventually I may move on to that.
I’ve been playing with your save and I just want to say thank you for creating it and sharing it. It’s so vibrant and I love all of the families and stories. Your community lots are amazing and full of charm! 💕
Thank you so much this is so sweet! ❤️ Community lots are my favorite thing to build so I tend to spend the longest trying to make them as immersive and realistic as possible. I love those families like my own too! I'm happy you're enjoying it.
