“Luke…” He can’t help it—he laughs. Is this some wayto fish more compliments out of him? He has no problem in dishing themout. “Well, there is this one person that means a lot to me. We’ve known eachother practically our entire lives, and we’ve definitely been through somestuff together. He’s a lot less like a friend to me and more like a brother.” Abratty younger brother, but he won’tsay that much.

“I know no matter what that we’ve got each other’sbacks. He’s made really remarkable changes to himself over the past few years.It’s been kind of difficult, watching him grow up. He’s been through a lot, andI haven’t been able to help him with everything, but I’m really proud of theway he’s turned out. “Yeah, we talk too... and neither of us call eachother weird stuff like ‘daddy’. I don’t know what the heck this stuff means, but I know Jade’s not your daddy.”

He doesn’t hold back a laugh at that– is Luke coming into that age where being cool is the most important thing in the world? He’s growing up, after all. “You think so? That’s a high compliment for a master to pay his servant. Looks like we’ll have to stick together if we really want to nab some major cool points.”

Undoubtedly, Luke was at that age. It was initially meant as a joke, but that didn’t mean that there was absolutely no truth in it. Of course Guy would be the one to notice too, since back at the manor he was his best friend, and one of the only people he felt close to aside from Van. Yeah, that was a while back, but their relationship hadn’t changed much. Guy was still looking after him, and sometimes it was a little embarrassing. He wasn’t a kid, he didn’t need to be supported through everything! But he knew it was because his friend cared.

“You think I was going to take it back?”

Why wouldn’t he think that Guy was cool anyway? Come on, Guy even called himself ‘the AMAZING Guy’. Well, that kinda thing was  sort of embarrassing too, but Guy just did things like that sometimes.

“It doesn’t sound too bad to me. What about you?”

Luke’s words only just managed to reach him. The realisation of what he had attempted was too much for him at this moment.

Finally managing to lift his head, tear filled eyes met Luke’s own. “I…I’d never…you’re….” was all he could manage. While he did love Luke - maybe more than anything else, he was his best friend. More of a little brother, even.

Letting his head fall, he ran his fingers through his hair - clutching tightly as he stifled back a sob.

"Hey, what's wrong, Guy? Why are you ignoring me? I--"

Faced with those tear-filled eyes, Luke could feel his heart waver and begin to feel heavy. Had the words hit him that hard? He knew that Guy would regret it all, but as he said, it was never his fault.

"--I said it's not your fault."

He frowned when seeing his friend clutch his head.

"It was that weird magic that did this, right?"

Stepping toward Guy, he reached a hand out and grabbed his wrist. This was bothering him. He was never aware of anything he was doing? Not at all? That was not something he wanted, but it was frightening to think that the magic was that strong.

"Talk to me."

shadows—of—light said: “Guy, he’s not lying… you ended up breaking my arm, too.” Luke rubbed his temples, still not understanding this. “I don’t know what happened… but… guess I won’t be fighting for a while, huh?”

"L—Lu—ke I—I—-" sitting down, he held his head in his hands. Just what else did he do that he couldn’t remember.

"I’m sorry….I’m so….so….sorry…..I…"

That apology seemed sincere, but deep down, Luke continued to wonder if some of what Guy said back then was truthful. It was weird to think about since his friend could no longer remember anything about it, but it was a strange situation that he would never forget.

"It's not your fault, you weren't even the one who wanted that to happen in the first place. It's the fault of whoever put you through all of that!"

A small huff followed shortly behind.

"I'm not going to blame you, so don't tell me to."

"I'm not going to lie. It was weird to hear you say all of that to me, to do all of that, and my arm won't be fixed by an apology... but... "

He gestured to his friend with his unbroken arm.

"I think that we should try and forget about it, for both of us. It's not like I remember everything either..."

Was it really so bad that I would try and forget it? Guy... why did they do this to you...?
