Everyone treated her like shit and she was done. She joined the pirates wanting to show that she was stronger than them and deserved better.

He grimaced. “I...I can’t! I don’t wanna hurt you either, but...I can’t let you hurt my friends or anyone else.” Palomo paused, thinking. “I’ll go back to Armonia, but you gotta come with.”

Palomo didn’t know why she’d left, exactly, but he did know she was a good fighter. Dangerous. Having Kiara on the pirates’ side was no good, and he was determined to get her back to Armonia no matter what.

Palomo’s eyes widened. “Yeah, sorta.”

He shrugged. “I dunno, just be...more humanoid. I guess. I don’t think regular people would take too well to wings an’ tails. Are there other demons too, out there? Like, disguised as people?” He wondered if anyone he knew was like Theta.
