Hello! Do you still use this account?
Hey! Yes, I do.
❤️🩹
Long live the King!
How tall was Natalia Bessmertnova, any idea?
170-171cm
Natalia Bessmertnova as Kitri in Bolshoi’s Don Quixote
Natalia would’ve turned 82 today
19 July 1941 — 19 February 2008
It seems you dont read the russian forum because people with more knowledge than people from outside like us said Ruslan actually didnt like being a teacher, thats why they hire someone else.
Also some of the best ballet teachers werent ballet superstars
My first reaction upon reading this: bruhhh what?
I honestly just wanted to leave it at that and post the “bruh what?” or ignore that very enlightened take of yours on the issue regarding Ruslan altogether, but I’m in a mood to act irritated.
First of all, come off anon if you wanna be edgy and smart like that.
Second of all, since when is the stuff people say on FORUMS treated as holy writ?
Next. Did Ruslan tell you all that? Or did you read that on a forum, a place that unites possessors of the ultimate truth? Even Ruslan’s Instagram post regarding the BT’s management’s decision to dismiss him as a coach and his interactions in the comments to that post alone testify to the contrary.
Yeah, right, some of the best ballet teachers weren’t / aren’t “superstars”, however, they are professionals; their schooling was / is immaculate. They earned the right and the privilege to teach through flawless performance (regardless of their rank), unmatched knowledge of the method, and superb abilities. The guy in the video boasts none of those things.
Peace out
Just so you guys understand: this **** (insert any epithet you want) replaced Ruslan Skvortsov, a principal dancer with the Bolshoi and an honored artist of the Russian Federation, as a coach-repetiteur
Bolshoi isn’t even a circus at this point anymore; it’s a dumpster for incompetent and underqualified (and Lord, is that an understatement) rookies
The Antichrist is purposefully dragging the company to his own level, that is my conclusion. He can’t tolerate professionalism, he hates the art form itself. He’s so full of bile and envy he’s doing everything in his power to make sure he stands out, which isn’t that hard if you’re surrounded by amateurs of this ilk
I do not own the rights to this video
I promised myself I wouldn’t post this, but here I am. I keep receiving asks and although I want to respond to most of them, I just… can’t? The reason is that the same day I found out about what happened to Ruslan, I received a very low personal blow irl. I’m absolutely crushed. I don’t know whether I’m fishing for attention right now with this post, I’m gonna be totally honest. I just feel totally drained, emotionally destroyed and I have no hope. I’ll try my best to get back to you guys as soon as I can.
As a follow up to the ask I just posted
Without naming any names, basically what’s happening at the God forsaken theatre is based either on sex, corruption, a sort of money laundering, nepotism (and not necessarily familial; more-so “friendly” although they know no friendship and will betray anyone) and squealing (as in, certain individuals reporting on what’s going on among members of the company to the management in exchange for privileges).
A certain dancer we all love or at least respect is almost the sole ruler and commands the management.
One anon asked me why I said that some of the principals are untouchable. Dear anon, without saying which one of the several you wanted to know about in particular: because *they* literally f!cked *their* way up the company hierarchy, which started even before *they* joined the company. Obviously, they’re not the only one.
This all is very incoherent but I’m so mad right now I can’t even link words together
Girl, what is happening at the BT? Spill the tea for us
The fucking demon has lost the last bits of his mind, that’s what’s happening! He has no shame!
Now he’s officially gotten rid of Ruslan! I’ve been ignoring all asks I’ve received since I posted about Tissi’s promotion, didn’t comment on Tsvirko’s promotion, but the Antichrist firing one of the VERY few true artists is beyond what I can describe using decent language.
Maybe I should respond to the questions after all.
Your guesses on which principal dancer the Antichrist is gonna get rid of now that tissi is one? I pray to god it’s not Lobukhin cause otherwise I’m gonna be tempted to post things those petty tyrants could sue me for
Let’s think logically: Zakharova and Shipulina are safe for obvious reasons, same with Smirnova. They won’t dare get rid of Krysanova bc then the community of balletomanes in Moscow might start a riot lol. Nikulina and Stashkevich should be safe bc them becoming principals was sort of the antichrists doing if my memory serves me right. Obraztsova… could be but I doubt it. Stepanova — I wish, but won’t happen probably.
Lantratov is untouchable bc he’s the only one who currently deserves to be a male principal, let’s keep it real. Rodkin has become too big a name, so not him. Belyakov — Zakharova won’t allow it. Ovcharenko is an asset to the management for certain reasons, so not him either. Savin just recently got promoted (relatively), so I doubt that it would be him. Chudin — ehhh maybe but I doubt it; he’s one of, like, the three dancers who can execute the 5th position lol. That leaves us with Lopatin and Lobukhin. The Antichrist hates talent bc he has none, so my guess is, he might target Lobukhin the same way he did with Nina, Maria Alexandrova and Ruslan.
Master turns 95 today, January 2nd, 2022!
Long live the King!
Belated ask responses
I want to ask about the situation with Ekaterina Shipulina, do you think she will be forced into the ‘working under contract’ like Kaptsova was soon? Or does she have more time?
No, I don’t think so. Her husband is too big an influence in Russia to allow that.
Questions from the same anon wondering why virtually everyone stayed silent after the tragic death of Evgeni Kulesh. The anon wonders why Svetlana Zakharova specifically hasn’t really spoken up.
They are scared. They don’t wanna lose their jobs. As to Svetlana, I think she’s perfectly content with the way things work out for her under the current management, so my personal guess is she didn’t want to stir things up.
how did you find smirnova's debut at the mariinsky? also thoughts on khoreva's kitri?
I honestly enjoyed neither.
What do you think Natalia Bessmertnova's MBTI personality type was?
That’s a great question, yet at the same time I don’t want to speculate. Yet I kind of do. Idk, definitely IXXX? Maybe an INTP? INFP?
@gothicsynthetic: Hello. Has there ever been a clarification of why Svetlana Lunkina left the Bolshoi Theatre? I ask as it was quite shocking news when it came about, but it appeared to have been planned well in advance. It's been a delight seeing her performances here in Toronto. I was completely undone by her "Giselle" a couple of years ago. I wandered around the following week after seeing it, certain I'd born witness to a young woman perish from an abuse of love and trust.
Hey! She allegedly received death threats (there’s an interview by some Canadian TV-channel where she explicitly says she’d received such threats but I can’t find it now). I’ve talked about the situation before here and here however that was years back and that was the info I gathered back then. I don’t know whether the story is still the same.
Do you know if when a ballet dancer gets their 'artistic evening with...' at the Mariinsky they can choose the partners and pieces their are gonna peform of is the theater that chooses for them?
They normally do, since it’s generally very influential and high-ranking dancers that get to have such evenings, and therefore it is them who pick their partners, choose what to perform, etc.
Opinion on [certain Ticket to Bolshoi] episodes
I’ve honestly stopped watching that hot garbage.
Why do you think Maria Khoreva gets so many debuts?
Because her father allegedly does everything in his power to ensure that. Besides, I think Fateev wants to keep her at the theatre / make her stay rather than leave for a foreign company, so my guess is he uses roles as incentives.
What’s your opinion on Eva Sergeenkova?
Hi, I’m the anon who just asked about Eva Sergeenkova. I read your previous ask and honestly I can see what you and that anon mean.. There’s just something ‘off’ about the newer generation of BBA dancers but I can’t really pin point what it is. I think the best graduate in recent years is Elizaveta Kokoreva, I find her dancing overall very enjoyable. while Sergeenkova has a loooong list of awards I’m just not keen on her performances I don’t know why…. There is so much hype around her, I’m just trying to find what’s so incredible about her and other than a great physique, I just don’t see it.. There is still time though and I realise it’s not fair to judge her so early. And I watched some videos of the 2021 BBA graduate performances and the girls are just not up to the standards of their VBA counterparts. But I feel like the boys department hasn’t suffered as much; I really like Denis Zakharov, Dmitry Smilevsky, Igor Pugachev. The girls in recent years are just :/ Sometimes I have to watch videos of Svetlana Lunkina, Polina Semyonova, Maria Kochetkova, Natalia Osipova etc to remind myself that BBA had its glory days, and these are really ‘the ones that got away’.
Sorry, I don’t answer “What’s your opinion on X” questions.
I like Kokoreva as well, and I’m really scared for her future now that Allash is her new coach.
Perhaps you don’t quite like Eva because, similarly to Postnova and Khoreva, she’s a product of extremely heavy marketing?
All in all, I agree with your observations and thoughts.
@holyinnocent: Do you think that Evgenia Obraztsova didn't get cast in Ratmansky's Giselle, because she started petty drama when he staged his Romeo and Juliet?
Hi! No, I don’t think so.
@ballet-symphonie: Curious for your thoughts on the Osipova news?
Hi! I’m guessing you’re talking about her selling ballet NFTs? To be honest, I don’t even find the event news-worthy.
