You were cooking rabbit on a spit over an open fire.
Geralt approached you at the decently sized flame, he was buttoning up his trousers from bathing in the river after another successful hunt.
"It shouldn't be much longer now, Geralt" you told him.
"No rush my dear" he responded and sat down on the log with you and store into the orange spitting fire.
I'll use you as a focal point
So I don't lose sight of what I want
He turned his head ever so slightly to your direction.
A small strand of hair fell past your ear and into your face.
You went to tuck it back in but Geralt interrupted you and did it himself, after grazing his thumb over your cheek and admiring your beauty.
I've moved further than I thought I could
Geralt could remember a time when it was just Roach and him. Never anything more and never would be anyone else in his company.
Oh, and I found love where it wasn't supposed to be. Right in front of me
But last year, a few nights before the first winter snow fall, he found you.
You were lost in the woods.
Your mother sent you to collect herbs for her healing practice but a yghern (giant centipide) caught smell of your scent and chased you deeper into the woods and farther from home.
You were on the brink of collapsing when Geralt saw you. You must have been 3 days out with nothing to survive and the cold was starting to hit your bones.
Geralt leap in and spared with the yghern.
He was tossed about his fair share before decapitating the brutal monster.
He was weary when approaching you but saw nothing but a fragile girl in need of his help.
I'll use you as a warning sign
Your sudden appearance made him ever so slightly question the path he was taking in life-full of murder, anger, and hate
When he saw you passed out on the frosted grass, his hardened expression softened and he gently picked you up.
Maybe the ancestors sent this human being as a last warning before Geralt slipped into never being able to be redeemed.
Talk some sense to me
You noticed Geralt's gaze and looked back to him with a smile.
"what is wrong?" you ask him.
He inhaled with a small smile and shook his gaze, "nothing".
But indeed nothing was nothing at all. It was everything.
You were everything.
Your presence showed the white wolf that there is hope. There is always another way. Life is never black and white.
He is able to find redemption in you.
Your kind heart and generous nature was enough to have Geralt start forgiving the people of his past. Giving him peace.
His brooding hard shell is no less a hell to crack, but you were helping him move on and love like he once did as a child before being left to Witcher Trials.
You hand him a rabbit leg on make shift plate you made out of tree bark.
He thanks you and you both begin eating.
He paused before biting in and for the first time felt a butterfly effect in his stomach.
"Y/N" He said.
You stopped eating and looked at him, "Yes Geralt?".
His golden amber eyes melting in a gaze with you.
"I-I love you" he stuttered, trying to understand what he was feeling.
"Geralt, what are in the rabbits around he-" you begin but he cuts you off by cupping your cheek and laying his lips on yours.
His lips are soft, not like butter, but enough.
His stubble grazes you just a bit as his mouth moves to take more of your tongue.
You indulge in the affection the witcher has expressed.
"I found love where it wasn't suppose to be" he said and kept you in his grasp
