#if i get my last immediate to-do thing done #i wanna write a sequel to my fic. feels pointless & just for me but that's what fic kinda is a lot of the time & that's fine #and the 3? ppl who commented on the first in the series rly liked it i think #ugh whatever i'll write what i want to write. it's better than ai users LMAOOO #the problem is that buying things feels like writing & my brain wants me to just buy buy buy bc quicker but i don't WANT any of this stuff #there's too much clutter everywhere #my post

here's the pitch: early in ep 1 show them on a crawl together & it's awkward at best and a little snippy/hurt at worst, the boyfriend-girlfriend thing is a metaphorical rock in between them. it's Awkward. have mike talk to will about how we got here (since california they keep getting further apart, el's so focused on saving max & doesn't need him, etc.) mike "no more regrets" parents in hospital realisation. el visits max with lucas at some point and talks to him about how he misses her and mentions/realises she doesn't feel like that about mike anymore. mike & jane meet up in the hospital and have an honest conversation (with vending machine coke sponsor why not make that money - also a call-back to their s3 breakup & m&m packet reunion) about their entire relationship, how they were young and mike says how everyone told him he liked her & should date her but he really does think she's super-cool and one of the best people ever.. he's just not sure he likes her That Way. and el thanks him for being there for her when she needed it & how he's so important to her but hasn't felt like a boyfriend for a long time now and she hasn't felt like his girlfriend, so they have their JANE: so... friends? MIKE: no thanks... best friends :'] moment. there, resolved best friendship with mike & jane, hints at possible gay mike, more lucas screentime yay, & showing jane's gained confidence in herself as just her as opposed to as a girlfriend. all before the end of episode 2!

#that would've been so sweet :( tower scene for good #like they never recovered after the s4 ending of her being sad & angry & mike telling will he's not gonna talk to her about it #and over the 18 months they've just kept arguing and trying to be in a relationship but el's focused on working hard to save max and mike's #having realisations and carefree fun while living with will #but mike & el both miss hanging out and both still think the other's so cool :(#but el's realising she doesn't rly miss him the way she should now that she's got a more important Big Goal to Achieve #and mike has some kinda realisation that he needs to be Honest with her and with himself. no more regrets!!#and they end up being sweet friends :( all the bitter stuff's been happening for years already #so once they've had their honest conversation (healing mirror to the s4 icky conversation) they're just left with relief & platonic love #& strength & closure & in-tune-ness & calmness to fight together #my post #wait also. el has a conversation with lucas at max's hospital bedside & realises the love she doesn't feel like that about mike anymore.#that feeling's gone and she is ok with that because she has things to focus on (bringing max back to life all the way & defeating vecna)#it's bittersweet but the feeling's gone
