Milton Glaser's super iconic timeless 1966 Bob Dylan poster was inspired by Marcel Duchamp's torn paper self self portrait of 1957. I love and am inspired by both artists for completely different reasons. Milton was a design icon and his brilliant body of work continues to inspire generations of designers and illustrators. Marcel is like some zen master who slyly changed art forever by creating readymades.  Who wore it better? I vote for Marcel, because it's simply torn and pasted paper on velvet covered cardboard. Doesn't decrease love for Uncle Milty though.

Here are some gems from the Herb Lubalin Study Center. It's not like finding diamonds in the rough, it's more like finding gems in the jewel case in the diamond district. It's nice to see a body of work like this from a design icon and see the great with the better than great, and how the work evolved through each design era.  I often forget this work is really OLD and it was done by hand. It's pretty timeless and the craft is impeccable.

The MoMA Design Studio does incredible work. They make combining beautiful concepts with strong elegant typography seem easy. I especially love the first image that brings together wall graphics and video.
