Heathcliff is so breathtakingly cruel especially in the second part, honestly a literary villain of all time. and that's not even to mention Hindley, or even Catherine 1 herself. the whole book is seething with unpleasantness. Emily Bronte was so based

Absolutely, I felt like I was in a horror movie when he had Cathy and Nellie trapped in his home with him in a ploy to marry off Linton. Truly terrifying, especially when he finds some sick pleasure in informing them their only chance of escape via yelling for help slipped right through their fingertips. Such a sadistic dude. Great character tho can’t lie that he had some great one liners.
