"going out to get milk" is a common turn of phrase used to describe a man abandoning his family.

the "milkman" is a common figure in stories depicting a woman's infidelity and adulterous affair.

this implies that the ability to provide milk would both decrease the likelihood of a man abandoning his wife and children, as it would eliminate the need for leaving to get milk AND would secure that man's marriage, as his wife would have no need to seek milk from an extraneous source.

therefore, all men should produce milk, through various means such as:

- being a cow

- being an almond

- being a woman

- being a coconut

- being in the omegaverse

- being an oat

in this essay, i will redefine the nuclear family and explain the seductive and inflammatory nature of the 1993 "Got Milk?" commercials.

This is the kind of tactic people pull out to dehumanize and stereotype an entire group so you can justify ignoring everything they say instead of actually talking out why you disagree on an issue. Expanding on this, that post i reblogged just now made me think about how piracy is like a library for video games. The library buys and stocks books (person buys and cracks the game), patrons come in and borrow them (torrents the games), doesn't matter why they do it (broke, don't like spending money on books, want to test the waters of a series before committing to spending, etc) no one says libraries are killing book sales, they're just making it so people who wouldn't otherwise have books get to read. Much like torrenting gets people to play games they otherwise wouldn't. Maybe they can't afford every game they buy, maybe they end up not liking it, maybe they do and end up buying it to support the dev. Either way it's just more people playing games.

And that ended with me thinking it would be sick to have communal gaming computers. It might be hard with some games, but with account-dependent save files or arcade games it could be possible. Not everyone can afford to buy beefy PCs, much like not everyone can afford to buy every book they want to read.

see every time i see this status i get angry because i’ve played through literally every scenario in rct1 and there is no place where this is a thing. there is never more than one park per map. and in rct2 you can’t make that happen i the scenario editor either. it is not remotely within the game’s functionality to simulate two discrete parks and these games were coded in assembly for christ sake so it’s not like someone modded it in by adding the line “int const TOTAL_NUM_POSSIBLE_PARKS = 2;”. there is no conceivable way this post is anything close to true and even though i know how writing all this out reflects upon me as a person and even though i know exactly how meaningless and trifling of a takedown attempt this is on some random facebook screencap with hundreds of thousands of notes im going to post it anyway because i’m too petty to have any say in the matter
