Wavebreakers stretch out into the sea at New Brighton, UK.
Almost Alien. Taken early in the morning at a local(ish) lake.
The Old Barn. An ancient crux barn sits on the shore of a local lake.
Jetty. West Kirby, Wirral, UK.
The Lighthouse. New Brighton, Wirral, UK. A rather gloomy Perch Rock Lighthouse at New Brighton last Friday.
So today I hit 1,000 followers on Tumblr. Thank you all so much!! It means a lot knowing that people like and follow my work 😊👍
Hey! Just wanted to say that you take amazing pictures & your blog is really beautiful! Great work. :)
Thank you so much! It means a lot when people take the time to reach out to me ☺️
The Cyclist. Liverpool, UK. On a recent trip to Liverpool I was leaning on the balcony and spotted this cyclist using the escalator.
A macro shot of a white Chrysanthemum taken at home using natural daylight. The aim of this image was to highlight the intricate curves, softness and mood of a flower that reminds me of my childhood (my Grandad is a fan of them).
Fleetwood Marsh Nature Reserve, Lancashire, England. One of the shipwrecks (fishing trawler?) on Fleetwood Marsh at high tide. The tide was so high when I got there that I had to wait for it to start going out so that I could see the safe route through the water! Would have certainly given passersby a good giggle if I fell into one of the deep channels…
Hope. As it was St Davids Day and Ash Wednesday last week, I decided that the Daffodil was an apt subject for a shoot. This was due to it being the national flower of Wales and nicknamed ‘Lent Lily’ as it flowers during the Christian period of Lent. I chose the title of this image ‘Hope’ as the Daffodil is a symbol of rebirth and new beginnings. Also, according to Welsh folklore, if you spot the first daffodil of the season, your next 12 months will be filled with wealth!
The Day After (Storm) Doris. Kelly Hall Tarn, Lake District National Park, UK. This image was taken on Friday (24th February 2017) just after sunset. I was quite surprised to see the water so still as there had been a ‘weather bomb’ less than 24 hours earlier!
Treetops. Peak District National Park, UK. When I was driving down Snake Pass I saw the fog moving through Lady Clough Forest and had to pull over into a lay-by to grab a shot.
Into The Distance. I took this on Saturday whilst driving through the fog on Snake Pass in the Peak District. The fog had become so thick that I had to pull my car over into a lay-by to wait for it to clear a little. Only five minutes before I took this picture I couldn’t even see the end of my bonnet!
Derwent Valley, Peak District National Park, UK. Last Tuesday I decided to visit Derwent Reservoir as the forecast was for thick fog all day. I’m glad to say that on this occasion, the forecast was correct! I didn’t have much time but managed to take these shots whilst I was there.
The Barn. An iPhone shot taken on a very wet day in the Peak District which led to a lovely moody atmosphere.
