Final Assessment 3: Concept Statement
Many of us believe that our individual actions today make little impact on the great world around us; because what can I do I’m only one person?
When in reality it’s every thought, decision and breath that dictates the future world we will live
In our final work we wanted to explore illustrating how individual choices can dictate what the future might be. So the first page of our artwork is a series of questions and paths that lead to a speculative future based on the choices that were made. Once a solution is reach the reader then turns to the indicated page and has a glimpse into a potential future.
The nature of the work is so audiences can repeatedly change the course of their actions and realise what future and where their choices can lead them. Realising how their little actions or thought processes can ultimately lead to different aspects or outcomes in our future
Once they’ve read and understood the comparative changes between today’s contemporary society and a speculative future, audiences turn to the last page. Here is a contract whereby audiences are encouraged to sign their name and pledge to actively ensure that they are considering the impacts of every decision they make. Also upholding their responsibility as citizens of the current world to ensure a better future for generations.
