Relax. You will become an adult. You will figure out your career. You will find someone who loves you. You have a whole lifetime; time takes time. The only way to fail at life is to abstain.

MUST READ:
The History of Love by Nicole Krauss
In honor of Nicole Krauss’ birthday, we are reviewing her award winning novel, The History of Love. We know a few things about Krauss. She’s a beautiful writer. She has an innate gift for crafting cleverly written sentences and she is the wife of the contemporary prodigy Jonathan Safran Foer.
In The History of Love, Krauss composes a compelling and heartwarming meditation on loneliness, grief and adolescence. A multitude of different characters are drawn together in the present day by a mysterious book published after World War II, titled The History of Love. Presented as journal entries, it chronicles the survival and escape of the Nazi occupation of Poland. What awaits after the Nazi downfall is an incurable loneliness.
Now sixty years later, 14-year old- Alma makes it her mission to investigate the novel, and the character she was named after.
Meaningfully beautiful and incredibly complex, Krauss has created a sophisticated novel which speaks on the universal theme of loss. We have never read a writer, which writers, conveys and understands humans emotions as well as Krauss. Even if you dislike the book, almost anybody who reads it will agree that the author’s prose is exquisitely stunning.
